I bought this not for protecting sensitive electronic devices but to provide quick-response uninterrupted power to a 120V, 2A wall-mounted LP gas water heater.

once connected, I set the unit up and plugged devices in and all worked well from the get-go

These devices are useful for maybe providing a power backup to your router, modem, and printer, but it can't seem to handle anything actually worth using a battery backup for

The battery is expensive and doesn't last and the device goes into alarm mode and refuses to shut off

I like the device and it seems to work fine, but I don't like the fact that the battery is not replaceable.

I then put my 3 critical devices into "surge only" plugs, installed the APC software and powered it on again.

Works fine to protect 120V line-powered devices.

Rather than protecting connected devices, it is CREATING power outages for the protected equipment.

I've been surprised at how often my house power briefly drops below the preset "trigger level" (intermittent brownouts) and this little device takes up the slack.

This device is cost effective enough for most IT budgets and its large mean time between failure means you won’t spend time and money replacing them in the near future

I can unplug the power from the UPS and devices (a small computer and a switch) continue to work uninteruppted, however when the power goes out my devices get into this weird "running but not working state"

So if you want a reliable high pitch alarm device, this should be your first choice

I have internet phone service as well as wifi and this device is well appreciated.

Time will Tell.this unit will protect your delicate devices from spikes in your electronic devices, it will proect from brown outs (power going down will also damage) spikes from a shorting out from a pump, cord being cut and twisted.

I tried Cyberpower and LiteOn and returned both after finding they did not allow voltage adjustment other than the factory setting of 90 volts and something like 140v, All current electronic devices stop working at 100 volts (lots go all the way to 220v on the high though).So with this

Outlets are too close together and can't be fully utilized if you're using devices like TP-Link's AC1200 as the wall wart runs left to right (vs. down from the outlet)

The device lasted 24 hours before my house was filled with a piercing wail as the ups died.
