APC Back-UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector (BE750G)

    • So I found a genuine APC replacement battery here on Amazon for less than the cost of an off-brand at my local battery place, so that makes this a great value
    • (The other had a non-replaceable battery for some reason
    • Either it has a bad battery or the device itself is defective.
    • I thought the battery was bad on the old unit, but after some testing, I found that wasn't the case
    • This unit was exactly what I needed - and a readily available user-replaceable battery
    • Battery is the sore spot, short life, costly.
    • I like the idea of replaceable batteries although I have replaced any yet.
    • This is a substantial unit with a nice heavy replaceable battery
    • We got a new computer last year and it was recommended that we buy a battery back up as well
    • Like the fact that the battery is replaceable.
    • LEAD ACID BATTERY which is not good for environment
    • This model is the best value for the money and essential if you are connected to the internet IMHO.Pros:- longest battery life in this form factor- telephone jacks to protect your modem/ethernet interface- coax jacks to protect your broadband connection- reasonably priced replacement
    • The first was a very similar one that lasted 9 years before the battery finally died after protecting me from a major power outage
    • Solid build quality and the batteries just keep on lasting
    • * those bells and whistles, I just need a good battery with plenty of plugs, and a good price
    • Strong battery life
    • This model doesn't have all the 'bells and whistles' that more expensive backup batteries do, but I do
    • I hate battery back-ups, but this one seems to be just fine.
    • Battery was a little hard to connect, as other reviewers have notedOther thoughts:It would be nice if the master/slave outlets were both on the battery backup, so that when the computer shuts down or enters standby, the monitors automatically shut off, but were still powered in the case of a power outage
    • it.5/1/15:APC first thought the battery was bad and sent me a new one.
    • Just recently it started beeping softly and light flashing red which I'm sure is a failing battery after almost 5 full years of service
    • So, the battery goes dead almost immediately
    • My 1st back up battery, but all work as I expected
    • I was amazed and found out that somehow having the batteries in the back up actually absorbed the impact.of the strike
    • The instructions for connecting the battery were non-existent; the clear plastic thing fell off and I had no clue what to do with it; the battery was really
    • Hooked it all up as the instructions stated, hooked up the battery, and really didn't have much difficulty with the positive battery post as most are saying is a pain in the butt.
    • The site stated that this model was no longer made and there were no replacement batteries available
    • I bought the same one about 5 years ago and the battery just started to die.
    • battery easy to replace when needed
    • Not much diagnostic info to know whether I have a bad battery, or bad device
    • I still haven't downloaded the software controls, but it's been as reliable as all other APC battery backups I've had so far.
    • Powers equipment for longer than expected, excellent battery life2
    • While it has a cheesy battery pack that you can attach for this very purpose, it does require that the device reboot twice (once when going on the battery pack, and once when going back onto the AC/DC adapter).Being the impatient sort, and wanting uninterruptible power for the Vera anyway, I figured that the best approach was to get a small UPS.
    • Good battery back-up.
    • This is a great battery backup.
    • APC sells the best Battery Backups.
    • Great battery backup!
    • Under such circumstances, a good idea to then shut off the backup so as not to drain the battery unnecessarily
    • This Smart Battery Backup and power conditioner really does the job
    • All batteries will fail over use and time.
    • I was expecting my trusty APC battery to kick in and keep my computer running until I shut down Windows.
    • You can get approximately 12 minutes out of it if you burn the battery totally down.
    • Great battery, will buy again
    • APC has a battery replacement/recycle program and seems to charge fair prices and provide environmentally proper recycling of their lead-acid rechargeable batteries
    • battery died after about a year an a half
    • This was a great battery charger the battery work really well
    • I was able to buy a new unit almost as cheap as a new battery
    • After worrying about my house filling with smoke because of a power outage (a common occurrence around here), I found this Battery Back Up which is perfect for my Harman pellet stove
    • After 8 years, the user replaceable battery should be replaced regardless.
    • One lasted over four years and when it weakened too much to keep the computer and some other stuff running at once, I just swapped the battery for even even less money and it's back to full power.
    • The BE750G battery was easy to connect to the UPS and I had it plugged in and set up very quickly
    • Seems to be a very good battery back-up UPS.
    • The battery was easy to install, no tools needed.
    • Pros:- Works as a battery
    • for those who get the beeping to replace the battery you can usually override this by tricking the unit that you have replaced the battery and trust me you can get at least a few more months to a year on the same battery
    • If/when you have a power outage, it automatically kicks in to supply up to 15 or 20 minutes of continued power to your computer as well as to such ancillary things as a printer, a modem, etc..
