APC Back-UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector (BE750G)

    • In addition to the back-up, it provides surge protection for additional devices.
    • I found out that only 5 outlets are battery backup connected and the other 5 are surge protection only which means you still will lose power when power is off
    • It has 5 Battery Backup/Surge Protection outlets (including one marked "MASTER" - more later).
    • Provides surge protection for 10 outlets, as well as a coaxial cable and RJ-45(ethernet) cable- enough to completely isolate most computer equipment from power surges3
    • Mine has 5 that are backed up with surge protection and 2 with surge protection only and 3 that are controlled by the MASTER outlet which is one of the 5 UPS outlets.
    • The top row of 5 plugs are battery backup, the bottom row of 5 are surge protection only
    • Fanless design, surge protection for cable, master / slave outlets turns off accessories when I power down the PC.
    • The unit also provides surge protection to a phone line, which matters when you have DSL, and live in a thunderstorm-prone area
    • Overall they perform very average and unreliable surge protection, in my experience
    • One side is for battery backup, which has 5 outlets and the others are for surge protection, which also has 5 outlets
    • This is one of the few back-up batteries in this price range that has 10 outlets - five for back-up and five for surge protection
    • Forget the power strips with surge protection, they are worthless
    • Like all APC UPS devices, this one has circuitry no one uses, but the basic functions of surge protection and short battery backup time are built in and work properly
    • Hope we never have to find out how the surge protection works - but if it works as well as everything else we've used, we should be fine
    • It works and provides excellent surge protection and power when you have a brown or blackout
    • a long and generally very positive history using APC UPS'sThe device is built like a giant power strip with two lines of plugs: one with battery backup and one with surge protection
    • There are 2 surge protection outlets (not backed up) and 3 additional outlets marked "Controlled by MASTER."The primary purpose of acquiring a battery backup system was to backup our home phone system and internet gateway/home WiFi network so we could use our tablets during a storm or blackout.
    • Note that some of the plugs delivery battery backup, and the other set on the other side of the box just do surge-protection, not battery backup
    • Put the receiver and other devices on surge protection only
    • The APC BE750G was easy to hook up and has been giving excellent service.
    • The BE750G was very easy to set up and the associated PowerChute software installed without incident
    • This time, the BE750G was still going on strong after 5 minutes when the power came back on
    • Note, this unit does NOT put out a pure A/C sine-wave.
    • This unit seems to work well, as I no longer suffer lockups of the blue ray player or loss of streamed video over the internet.
