Just what I needed to keep my router and modem powered during outages without annoying alarm beeps

The UPS went dark as well and tapped out without a sound (no annoying alarms going off in this UPS which I like).Conclusion:Happy

The only way to silence the beeping is by removing the audible alarm unit off the circuit board

When I pluged it in it gave out a ear shattering, continuous alarm that only quit when I pulled the plug

My issues still stand: the plug configuration is inconvenient, and the alarm is LOUD (seriously, it's louder than any ups beeper I've heard.) as far as I know, there is no way to turn it off, which sucks

I wish you could disable the alarm

There is no way to turn off audible alarm on BGE70 unit thru any options APC offers - FACT

I find it unbelievable that APC's designers did not provide a way to turn off this alarm, and that they thought an alarm this loud made sense for a consumer product in the first place.

If your power supply is subject to even tiny fluctuations, this device will send out a loud, shrill alarm all hours of the day and night.

I had to take it apart and rip out the alarm.

I like that the alarm beeps ONCE during a power outage, and doesn't keep chiming away like most UPS's.

I can appreciate the logic boards quick voltage detection, but I can't live with the 2 second false alarm beeps.

Interestingly enough, the manual says it has an audible alarm when power is lost, which is something I did not want, but on each occasion where we lost power, there was no alarm.

In addition, I cannot understand why the newer model BGE90 has the same problem even though there were numerous complaints about this loud alarm in the BGE70

It works, and there's (thankfully) no noisy alarm during outages.

Also wish I could turn off the annoying alarm.

I have no idea why the put an audible alarm in this cheap UPS.

At night, a small power glitch will sound the alarm and wake me up

Unlike other UPS you don't have to listen to the annoying alarm beeps of other units

Lacks ability to turn off audible alarm

The one that affects me most is the incredibly loud alarm that sounds when there is some kind of significant power transition

All in all... a great, and well thought-out idea.
