If you need longer times, you're in the wrong price range by a factor of 4.The surge protection it offers - which like any surge protector can be a bit of a crap shoot in terms of effectiveness, but still better far better than nothing

There are other Hacks out there to kind of do the same things with a small battery pack, but this works for the price I got it at it would have been the same price as the Hacks.
