    APC Back-UPS Pro 1000VA UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector (BR1000G)

    • The APC BR700G UPS seems to be working flawlessly.
    • They should produce a less expensive pure sine wave UPS for home use
    • This UPS works, and the battery seems to last what it's supposed to, and I like the idea of expandability, blah, blah

    • I do not experience these issues with my APC Smart-UPS (which is also much quieter!)-If the power does go out and you'd like to complete your current task, you'll probably be annoyed by the fan that kicks on when it switches to battery power

    • The fan is loud, but it off as long as the UPS has outlet power--in normal operation the UPS is virtually silent, barely an audible hum and that is definitely drowned out by my computer's power supply fan (which isn't loud, but much more than the UPS)

    • I will say that choosing a good and reliable UPS was incredibly important to me, as I’ve been having some risky behavior from transients by my house lately, and I needed to ensure that if there is a break-in or power-outage, that I have a good chance of keeping my internet and security gear up and running in-case of emergency for as long as possible

    • The UPS tracks the number of power events independent of the devices attached and you can see the voltage in and out of the unit as well as the load the devices are putting on the unit

    • When I called APC, they agreed to send out a free replacement UPS, no problem
    • To go larger you have to go to the Smart-UPS line which are way more expensive than the Back-UPS line and provide features I just don't
    • The only way to stop it from running is to turn off the UPS completely (which defeats the purpose of having a UPS).I have the BX and stand alone BR each running a 3D printer and lights and accessories.
