Based on my anecdotal evidence, if you can deal with the squeaking (e.g., the unit's going in a closet) you'll get a perfectly fine battery backup

1. replacing the battery would be insanely easy on this APC (slide off the bottom cover, slide out the old battery, slide in the new battery, replace cover), and 2. the PowerChute software (if you use the ethernet-to-usb cable to monitor the unit on your computer) is much more useful than CyberPower's software -- APC's will tell you when the last under/over occured, how much power you're drawing, estimated time based on power drawn, cost per day (you can even specify your personal $/kWh rate), CO2 emission rate (if you're interested in your footprint), modifying the over/under Voltage amounts, modifying the sensitivity to electrical noise, and so on

At that point the battery kept testing bad, with a rare one in there testing good.

Very good battery backup, if your running something that is not too power hungry, it will run it for over an hour

I also feel that APC batteries hold up longer before they die, versus CyberPower batteries

Thus, if you have the unit in your bedroom, forget about getting more than 5 hours sleep, assuming you can get back to sleep after being jolted awake by the really, really, really annoying "failed battery" alarm

It's easy to install but you have to remove the protective battery labels before using!

Just received my backup and the battery is draining while it's on 121+/- AC, and yes, Battery was removed and installed correctly since it is NOT connected during shipping.

For example, you should plug in your computer main unit and monitor on the left side outlets marked as "Battery Backup" and heavy loads like your laser printer on the right side marked "Surge Only"

When I installed the UPS in my Home Theatre system it worked fine for about an hour, then intermittently when the Home Theatre was on it would kick into battery power and a high speed fan noise would emanate from the unit.

About a month after purchasing this UPS, it started giving alarms about failed battery tests.

I was worried that I was going to be without a battery backup system for a few weeks (that I desperately needed and just forked out $200 on), and I was worried that I would have to wait for APC to get my bad battery back first, test it, then wait for APC to send me the replacement unit

After purchasing a fine replacement battery for our ancient APC UPS - only to find out the UPS was a brick - we regrouped and bought this unit.

However IF as APC claims, this product does not work with TVs or other home entertainment electronics, that should be noted in the product description, preferably in bold letters so others do not make the assumption that when reading "The Back-UPS BR1500G offers guaranteed battery backup and surge protection for high performance computer systems, networks, external storage devices, game consoles and other electronics," the other electronics would include home theatre items or TVs

But the UPS acted as if the battery was not connected and / or missing altogether.

Bought this one to replace a failing Battery Backup.

Had an APC smart UPS that kept overheating and killing the batteries, which were like $500 a pop, for the computers on my KBA comet.

Mine continued to alarm for bad battery after I swapped in a new one causing me to think that the UPS itself had failed.

The one we replaced was being used on a monster computer and it corroded the battery.

The strategy I've taken in the past is that where batteries get too expensive, I just buy the current model of teh UPS to upgrade, rather than a new battery by itself.

When your UPS tells you that your batteries are bad, you need to replace them all at one time and soon.

Never had to pay a penny on RMA's, they usually just ship out new batteries free of charge, and tell you to recycle the old ones.

You should probably know that the unit described above that had a 23 minute run time when it was new started giving "bad battery" alarms over a year ago.

I purchased this battery on november 21st, 2017 and on October 17, 2018 the battery failed a self test and I was told to purchase a replacement from a prompt.

My battery was completely dead on arrival and the unit just kept beeping at me no matter what I did

Easy to setup (simply flip the battery around) and easy to use, display can stay on or auto-timeout in purposely dark rooms like a theater, plenty of plugs (both battery backed-up and surge-only) on the back of the unit...

so the battery has basically gone bad, even though it was not in use, still sealed, in the box, in a closet all this time.

(Generic batteries work just as well as the overpriced OEM ones - BTW)

Overloading or running UPS backups at maximum capacity will damage both the batteries and the UPS electronics over time

I had one unit fail within a few days of use with a bad battery failure.

One tip, if you have a battery fail after a few years, be sure and completely power off the unit when replacing the battery.

Frequent Florida lightning strikes require the best Surge Protector available, and this unit has a great battery backup if local power should be lost!

I'm using a backup battery recommended for this in order to increase my usable battery time when the power goes out

While the unit thinks the battery is bad and needs to be replaced, if you unplug the unit from the wall outlet so that the APC is running on battery, the run time on the "bad batteries" is, about a YEAR after the "failed battery" alarms started, at about 83% of what it was when the unit was new!!!

The battery pack fails to pass the self diagnostics run on the UPS (Power Chute software is problematic at best and never reads a good battery)

I have had a couple of issues in the past with bad batteries int he UPS

If even only one battery is bad, it will drag down the system so it can't provide power for very long.
