APC won't work without ground.

UPS itself works great, however APC has serious quality control issues.

I have mostly been disappointed with the APC technical support timeliness with responding to a critical problem.

In a world with very bad customer service and poor follow-through from just about every manufacturer, and painful RMA /exchange processes, APC is almost Amazon-like with regards to great customer service and honoring their manufacturer warranty

, maybe APC is faster, maybe not, I have no idea, the device is big and heavy, no idea, didn't feel like going through the headache of RMAI grabbed a medium sized safety pin, bent the needle into a hook, fished it down into the batter pins and tugged the pin back up into positionreinserting the battery just jammed the pin again so I fished the pin back out, used the needle nose pliers to bend the pinreinserting the battery a second time showed successi removed the battery and confirmed the pin was no longer jammednow the device works finei would like to think this was a special case and this doesn't happen often

I DON'T LIKE APC.

Battery went bad after about 8 months, APC was very helpful in replacing it on warranty at no charge.

As previously noted, the old APC UPS had no problems supporting my iMac and Apple Tech Support told me that the iMac DOES NOT need a pure sine wave UPS.Well, according to the APC Tech Support person I spoke with, their APC Back-UPS PRO line no longer supports iMac and the only APC UPS's that will work with a newer model iMac are the APC SMART line.

Nice APC, will save you from your computer from shutting down when you don't want to and lose power.

I find the APC 1500 cuts in occasionally when the lights just flicker as well

Works great, APC is practically bullet proof.

My APC reps answer was fantastic yet again; the warranty on the replacement unit would continue from the day that I purchased my defective APC BR1500MS (which essentially means that I lost no time on my APC 3 year manufacturer warranty)

Like most UPS manufacturers, APC advertises its UPS units based on the current capacity (VA) rather than the power capacity (W).

I called the APC Technical Support line and it was a pretty quick and painless process to get a replacement battery shipped

I have found APC to be the best overall for longevity, easy of use, and protection.

I am glad to report that I either got lucky or APC fixed the issue.

I got a great price for a product that I really wanted to make work for my personal-use, and I'm confident that any future issues that may arise with my replacement unit, APC will stand by me and take of the issue promptly and easily

Either way, I still can't recommended APC to anyone.

A year and a half ago I purchased two cyberpower ups systems for two of your stations figuring that they would be just as reliable as APC units.

I have been a loyal APC UPS customer for over 20 years.

Unfortunately, even though APC has since resolved the defect in new units being produced, there are still plenty of defective units for sale out in the wild

even if APC didnt think my unit fell under the known-defect serial number range or build-date, they STILL would have worked with me to test the issue and exchange the UPS unit if needed, just as easily)

APC should be ashamed for selling such a piece of garbage to its customers.

I do not experience these issues with my APC Smart-UPS (which is also much quieter!)-If the power does go out and you'd like to complete your current task, you'll probably be annoyed by the fan that kicks on when it switches to battery power

I returned the "defective" APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 and got a new replacement.

I noticed these being used at work and my own APC 1200 was failing after 6 years of loyal service.

I also recommend these models with AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) over the cheaper APC models.

This APC back-ups pro works great, and tells me how many times a power failure or flection has accrued

The battery will still bleed even if it outside the APC but not as fast as when it is inserted in the usable position

You would hope that Amazon would have newer inventory of these units, or that Amazon wouldnt knowingly carry defective units, but clearly from the reviews on Amazon, it's still hit or miss as to whether or not you will order an APC BR1500MS (or BR1000MS, etc) and get one that doesn't chirp
