APC UPS 1350VA Sinewave UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector, APC BackUPS Pro UPS (BR1350MS)

    • Message: Cannot find a hard drive
    • I bought this particular one to keep 2 wifi routers, a modem, and a 8 hard drive media server (full PC) up and going
    • This APC 1500VA UPS now keeps my iMac and numerous hard drives up and running when the power flickers
    • tb hard drives in
    • Three hard drives
    • For your reference, I'm using this with a Late 2013 27" iMac, Core i5, 1 TB (7200 RPM) hard drive, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M graphics processor with 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory.
    • The switch over time to AVR or battery operation is fast enough that the 27 inch iMac and the external Hard drives were not affected at all during the transitions
    • This specific model is great for a single computer with monitor and one external hard drive
    • I bought this UPS unit to keep the server and desktop from frying their hard drives during these power cycle events
    • Alone, it is showing 24 minutes at 224W consisting of a workstation with two monitors and multiple hard drives.
    • I have two computers systems (one is used only rarely), the above modems and an external hard drive.
    • blips would often shut it down non-gracefully, which can corrupt your hard drive.
    • I bought this because my BF, who is a computer geek, told me when I expressed concern that a storm would hurt my computer that it isn't the electrical surges so much that harm your computer, its when power shuts off that your hard drive can be damaged, that the sudden reduction of electrical current played hell on your electronics
    • ONI'm using this UPS to power an iMac 27inch Retina, (3) external 4TB hard drives, an Airport Extreme WiFi router and a cable modem.
    • Has already saved a hard drive during a format.
    • Other companies are certainly improving, but when it's critical I always go with APC.
    • Not as bad as I first thought
