    APC UPS 1350VA Sinewave UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector, APC BackUPS Pro UPS (BR1350MS)

    • My last UPS stopped working a couple of weeks
    • DO NOT use the included coax cable :/UPS works great
    • Other than that, the UPS is pretty silent
    • While this particular "noise" coming from the defective UPS that I received isn't part of the quality-assurance process, the unit I received was still nonetheless safe to use and worked great until I got my replacement unit from APC
    • The UPS works great and has plenty of capacity for all of the office goodies I have plugged into it.
    • APC made it SUPER easy, and I was able to keep my perfectly-working (although annoyingly-squeaking-defective) UPS running until my new replacement UPS arrived

    • I have been a loyal APC UPS customer for over 20 years.
    • Also, it is not a pure sin wave UPS, but seeing as I just came from the Cyberpower UPS, that just blew up my previous 1000 watt Rosewill power supply, there was no alternative

    • The fan is loud, but it off as long as the UPS has outlet power--in normal operation the UPS is virtually silent, barely an audible hum and that is definitely drowned out by my computer's power supply fan (which isn't loud, but much more than the UPS)

    • All in all this seems to be a quite nice sine-wave UPS and is certainly a much more cost-effective and nicer device than those available only a few years ago.
    • so I decided to contact APC customer service directly to let them know that I received a defective-chirping UPS, and they took care of me 100
    • So not only does APC not support Apple with their software, but now, per their own statement, they don't support Apple products with anything but their most expensive SMART UPS line
    • The lack of non windows smart UPS software doesn't bother me, as I was able to utilize an open source program apcupsd to grep any data I need at home, thus rendering the need for APC's proprietary software
    • I returned the "defective" APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 and got a new replacement.
    • The computer equipment not protected by a NAS doesn't shut down from these voltage drops/surges, so I think the unit is a little on the sensitive side, but I'd rather have overly sensitive UPS equipment than insufficiently sensitive equipment

    • You can then program your PC to automatically shut down safely when the UPS is drained to a specified level
