The UPS has been a lifesaver for my desktop and printer, with how many thunderstorms and resulting power surges there are here in the Southeastern US
-
If you run the UPS during a power-out until it dies you have probably just put some big WEAR on that battery, idk if there is such a thing as a smart UPS that limits the discharge, or gives the option to do that, to extend battery life
-
May as well buy a whole new UPS instead of replace the battery.
-
A whole new UPS is more expensive
-
So I assumed the UPS was just dead and threw it in the trash, but kept the new battery since it was brand new
-
UPS has worked great for over 5 years and just started beeping.
-
We don't lose power often -- the UPS is to protect against transient noise caused by our HVAC compressors cycling on -- so the battery has never been run down
-
These UPS lead-acid batteries need to be recycled instead of discarded
-
UPS works perfectly.
-
Replacement battery slipped right in, I connected up the wires, turned the UPS back on - and it works great.
-
Second battery purchased in a week, another UPS died.
-
The UPS worked fine other than the battery about to fail (red warning light flashing) after at least 4 years or more, and the buying the battery was quite a bit cheaper than buying a whole new UPS, given there aren't any big sales in May (unlike November or December).

My UPS is a few years old, but it's always worked well.
-
UPS works again
-
Works just as you would expect, UPS is working like new with less beeping and sqeulching.

Product is fine but cost is silly considering the actual UPS is only a few dollars more, needlessly encouraging turning your old UPS into landfill.
