The screen, for all intents and purposes, scratches the same as a mobile phone does

If you damaged the iPod itself by either A) dropping it, B) smashing the screen, or C) scratching it so it stops working, you're stuck with the repair request form.

Had problems seeing screen on Creative Nomad, the backlight feature on iPod is much better.

so i plugged it back in and there was a little "sad" ipod error screen telling me to go to apple support

The device is slim and light, the screen is perfectly fine...although a color screen would be a nicety, it's no show-stopper

they all suck.they freeze, they won't plug in, the screens get messed up

A protective cover is pretty much a necessity, and the one I have (Kensington silicone rubber) is a dust magnet and makes the screen look pretty lousy, no matter how much I attempt to clean it

its not the screen broke for me a day after i bought it after dropping it 2 feet onto my bed.......

Not only are they not as small as the sleek ipod, they also didn't have as readable screens as the iPod

but I dont like that thing because they might damage the screen so bad if you take out frecuently

The click whell is very useful and screen is very clear

I have to because the screen is very difficult to view without the backlight

The backlit screen for this iPod is excellent, i could see the screen easily even if i was in the darkest place.

The backlit screen of the iPod is also easy to read.

It's not the best, though, because dust can get through the protective screen and onto the regular screen

I get the infamous exclamation folder screen which is equal to the blue screen of death to PC people.

Its backlight screen is extremely easy to see and read, even my Mom can read it, and she doesnt have the best sight in the world.

When purchasing an iPod you might want to buy a protective cover because your screen could get scratched if you are not as careful with your possessions.
