Apple iPod 20 GB White (4th Generation) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)
Product Packaging:Standard Packaging
Incorporating the fabulous Apple Click Wheel that was first introduced on iPod mini. Offering up to 12 hours of battery life. Weighing in at just 5.3 ounces. And getting slightly thinner with each new generation...
These are nice ones, and you get great sound at first, but again, they break if you even think mean things about them.
I have the e3c's, and man does everything on the ipod sound great
Sure, the highs sound good, but there is hardly any bass
I'm aware that it's my own fault as the right earphone must have got bashed around in my coat pocket at college, but I can no longer use my iPod with the earphones provided because the sound is all gritty and grungy in correspondence with the beat and bass
I am very pleased with the iPod, and the sound is great
Its sleek design, large memory capacity, compatibility with iTunes, and ease of use makes this one of the best portable digital listening devices on the market
The sleek design and the easy to use click wheel definitely caught my attention
With the expected sleek sophisticated design this iPod will look stylish anywhere you go
The major problems with the ipod have been fixed with the newest generation (4G), namely the battery life issue and the slighly akward controls.
This iPod reeks of elegant design and quality engineering and construction.
The clickwheel is a great invention and the unit itself is nice looking and easy to carry.
i would highly recomend purchasing this if you are looking for an easy to use, all around good mp3 player.
I bought an click wheel iPod a month ago, it's a really cool device, built with an excelent quality and great looks
So if your looking for a device that is easy to load and use, that is reliable, that can play your mp3 files without fail, this is not the device for you
As far as looks are concerned, my opinion isn't particularly relevant; beauty being in the beholder's proverbial eye, you can make what you will of things
I really like this iPod, it saved me from having to get a new stereo in my car, but I don't like the shuffle feature.
The click wheel is another superior feature and makes using the iPod easy and entertaining
The menuing system of the iPod is easy to navigate, and I love the playlist features, which allows one to build (through iTunes on the computer, or even on the go) a, well, playlist of songs - as many as one could want
The iPod is an expensive electronic that has many positive and negative features
I love the features on the iPod and the many things you can do with it
The iPod is where it is on the market because it's a pretty damn good product.
The ipod mini is also a weaker product if you are a mac user
if the product was defective i would have complained so) and that if i returned it i would have to pay a 15% restocking fee!i'm at my wits end with this company
Product was great at first, but only lasted a little over a year.
I found this a great product, maybe a little expensive but worth it!!
The ipod has great sound quality and great battery life
This mp3 player has great sound quality with the ear buds provided
Buy a Creative Zen, it's cheaper, better quality and has alot more features
I bought the 20 gig ipod because my old one broke after dropping on the floor from about 3 feet (cheap quality) but my new one works great, i don't think the click wheel is that much better than the old ipod but it seems to make things a little faster
Love this iPod - it's easy to download music and the sound quality is amazing!
The screen scratches easier than any electronic device I have ever owned
Had problems seeing screen on Creative Nomad, the backlight feature on iPod is much better.
When purchasing an iPod you might want to buy a protective cover because your screen could get scratched if you are not as careful with your possessions.
This is only a problem at night, during the day the screen is very easy to see
I have to because the screen is very difficult to view without the backlight
(I don't much care for it.)iPods are notorious for breakdowns, often resulting from normal bumps and jostles
iPods are notorious for failing after little more than a year, and Apple will do nothing for you!Be Warned.
And to respond to the person that iPods are a scam: if they're a scam, HOW COME YOU HAVE A MINI AND A SHUFFLE?Anyway
Ipods are good if you want to impress your friends, but if you want satisfaction, go for the Zen.
Over the past 3.5 years, I have owned three Ipods and all three died with the same problem after about a year....the well known folder with the exclamation mark.
I know that most people have had great success with the iPod, but I wish that I had read at least one negative about it before I bought it so that I might have been a bit more prepared for the battle I was about to endure.
Heck, some people probably couldn't get by with the 60GB model.
makes me know after being screwed before that not all people are bad
When people say (if you go to a store to buy the iPod) "You should get the iPod dock charger because it protects the iPod from power surges while it's charging," don't fall for it
I don't see why people go after the ipod that is more expensive, and lacks in the battery
The ipod does have quirks as well such as you can't delete a playlist from the unit on the go, you can't name the on the go playlists from the unit on the go and most of all it scratches so very easily
Maybe they're OK for some people, but I find the included ear buds highly uncomfortable
It took me a while to get it down, and blew out my ear a few times while doing it.
I screamed into the poor person's unsuspecting ear on the phone
this concept is a logical one - the black cushions often cover up the letters on the earbuds that designate whether they're for your left or right ear
The ipod does have quirks as well such as you can't delete a playlist from the unit on the go, you can't name the on the go playlists from the unit on the go and most of all it scratches so very easily
I believe that the ipod was the first Hard Drive based player on the market and they have improved the design and function with each new generation
I wouldn't complain, except that I know PDAs are capable of these things, and I paid a PDA-sized price for this thing!Bitter bucks-based grumbling aside, the click wheel is a nifty innovation, I could play with it for hours
Doesn't work on Linux: Mac OS X is UNIX-based, so Apple has the ability to make the iPod drivers/updater software work on UNIX/Linux/BSD
but you're saving a lot of money and from personal experience the docking station is really sort of a rip-off - based on the sleek design of the
But if you don't, it is not worth it unless you use your iPod for an external hard drive
at least) they figured out it as a hard drive problem, on my ipod
I tend to use it as a portable hard drive now because I upgraded to a flash-based player with much more space, battery life, and awesome sound quality.
Pros:More than enough hard drive space for most people (5,000 songs)Incredibly easy to
My $299.00 technological marvel, my portable music librarian, my expensively priced modern convenience's hard drive had failed
iTunes slows down my computer to a crawl, mostly when i am ripping CD's (somewhat understandable)to the point that a cannot use it for much else
it slowed down my computer more than anything else i have ever put on it (and tahts including some games which are over
It's cheaper, the people are nicer (as I have many other Sony products, and no qualms with them), and you don't have to install iTunes, which slows down your computer quite a bit
There are also models available that offer 30, 40, and 60GB, but unless someone wants to use an iPod to back up their computer hard drive, the 20GB model is more than enough to hold most peoples entire collection of music and pictures twice over, so why spend more money than necessary
a more standard mp3 player, one that I can play whatever I like, move to however many player or computers that I like etc
