Reviews around device (4.26 of 5)

  • They both last a 4 to 5 hour flight but they aren't the most battery friendly devices on the planet
  • The wireless on the Onkyo performs on par with modern wireless devices
  • I recently got this device, yesterday, and I really like it.
  • This device is very expensive, and doesn't include any way to protect it.
  • Wanted so much to love this device but the one shipped to me did not work.

Reviews around thing (4.21 of 5)

  • The cool thing about this is that you have to constantly tap on the screen the entire time, or else the system would turn off on its own
  • Five stars for the sound quality (which is the most important thing), one star for the build quality.
  • If you're setting this up, downloading a lot, and setting stuff up - this thing will get *really* warm, and programs start to crash.
  • Now, onto some nicer things to say:-Once the bloatware is disabled, I can get about 12 hours of streaming on Spotify (extreme quality).-the android functionality is very very smooth
  • and the damn thing turns off,

Reviews around product (4.16 of 5)

  • Also, beware - this product I purchased was sold by Onkyo's Japan arm, not the US, which made it impossible to get warranty service.
  • This is a very good product and like how the music sounds and how you can gonna tune your preference via dap settings but the onkyo player app is a but clunky and not as easy to use as others I've tried and the bluetooth sucks when I want to listen wirelessly.
  • I've had this product for a week and really enjoy it, but there are a few issues:-the android

Reviews around player (3.61 of 5)

  • I am really enjoying this player and love the ability to use two MicroSD cards!
  • Never before have I heard a music player capable of this kind of sound quality.
  • The screen felt cheap and plastic-y
  • I am sorry Onkyo, I so wanted to love this player because of its great sound but because of its poor battery life I have to rate it as pretty well useless.
  • As an aside, however, my laptop computer, equipped with its good audio player App and separate DAC, sounds even better

Reviews around dap (3.61 of 5)

  • That aside, I am also a wee bit undecided as to whether to stick with my combo of X1+ Shure SE846CLs (an Amazon purchase in 2014
  • this is almost the perfect overall DAP with good price and sound.
  • I LOVE this DAP
  • I'v had this DAP for several months and am finally satisfied with it's performance which is as good as I've ever heard (now) but this model is a challenge to configure correctly.

Reviews around quality (3.34 of 5)

  • Im new in this sector but in very needy when it comes to good quality sound
  • But the sound quality is excellent and the player is high quality and a pleasure to use
  • That aside, I am also a wee bit undecided as to whether to stick with my combo of X1+ Shure SE846CLs (an Amazon purchase in 2014
  • Very poor quality and poor customer service from the Onkyo whom does not back defective products!Onkyo music software for transferring HD music files to the DAP is absolutely the worst used from any DAP owned.
  • The most important: clear and nice sound quality espeсially playing hi-res files

Reviews around soundstage (3.22 of 5)

  • sound stage - while this is a cliché in audiophile circles, the DP-1XA's soundstage is so accurate that you'll hear the singers somewhere in the middle of your head.
  • That aside, I am also a wee bit undecided as to whether to stick with my combo of X1+ Shure SE846CLs (an Amazon purchase in 2014
  • Remarkable quality and sound, very solid build, fantastic soundstage

Reviews around onkyo (3.04 of 5)

  • The Onkyo is snappy and just "works" without any direction
  • The Onkyo, with a bit of EQ fiddling (which is easy and fun) sounds as good or better
  • I DID purchase a screen protector pack LifeBox Tempered Glass for Onkyo DP-X1 Digital Audio Player Screen Protection Premium 0.33mm (2 PACK) from Amazon along with the DP-X1, which arrived with the device the day The Donald became The President - as a birthday present to myself
  • The screen felt cheap and plastic-y
  • I am sorry Onkyo, I so wanted to love this player because of its great sound but because of its poor battery life I have to rate it as pretty well useless.

Reviews around audio (2.54 of 5)

  • Audio is excellent with balanced earphones if you can find some
  • Real audiophile would like the excellent audio.
  • That aside, I am also a wee bit undecided as to whether to stick with my combo of X1+ Shure SE846CLs (an Amazon purchase in 2014
  • Tried removing and/or disabling unused apps, no dice! Now for the most annoying part: After about 20 minutes of attempting to listen to something, the audio cut outs would get worse and worse, and the system would get super hot

  • That aside, I am also a wee bit undecided as to whether to stick with my combo of X1+ Shure SE846CLs (an Amazon purchase in 2014
  • The screen felt cheap and plastic-y
  • I used to own a FiiO X7, and this was definitely not the case, they had a much harder time implementing android into their device.-3rd party android app support

  • That aside, I am also a wee bit undecided as to whether to stick with my combo of X1+ Shure SE846CLs (an Amazon purchase in 2014
  • The battery is terrible, i permanently use it on battery saver mode of Android, which doesn't effect performance of the music player
  • Minus one star for not awful but poor battery life
  • I am sorry Onkyo, I so wanted to love this player because of its great sound but because of its poor battery life I have to rate it as pretty well useless.
