i like the unit for the most part, but i'm sorely disappointed that the firmware doesn't allow it to recharge on my Polk Audio miDock like the earlier iPod Nano.

If Apple could just make the Nano the correct way in the beginning they would not have to keep altering it each year and feeding it to the public as "new" and "innovative"

I really enjoy the nano for taking it on trips or just hooking up to some speakers when I am not by my computer while I am working on a project.

The only drawback is the nano 8 isn't compatible with my player/charger.

I really like about this unit is you can play the cover flow; some of the really cheap Apple products only play shuffle (or at least for me, I have tried to make them play the cover flow, but I can't seem to make them do it).

if i'm exercising with it on my arm, and i try to make a simple volume adjustment or advance to next track, the stupid thing won't because its in coverflow mode, because its not perfectly vertical

I just can't believe anyone would put a thousand songs on their units; however, I realize you can use these little versatile things for many other uses, and that is where the 16 or more would be handy.
