Terrible product!!!I contacted Apple to complain and the customer service rep admitted that they are aware of the issue and trying to find a solution.

I am a actually a very loyal Apple fan and customer but am pretty disappointed at the lack of forethought that went into this product

I tried out the horrible, horrible Apple headphones (the ones that hurt and never stay put in my ears) to see if I could live with it but yucko . .

If you have an older one and it still works, hang onto it until Apple fixes the engineering problems with this one.

Apple advertised the product for runners and for working out, and they lied.

I have a pair of Sony headphones which I swear by and would never ever consider downgrading to the unusable Apple phones

The truth is I'm rather disappointed by this -- it's rather un-Apple-like to not have thoroughly designed with usage in mind

However, the new 3rd generation design REQUIRES that you use the silly apple earbuds just to operate the ipod (start, pause, play, skip)

I can't believe that Apple would make such a simple goof

Truly, Apple must have considered the fact that many customers would use this product to work out or run, but it really seems like Apple failed to consider this huge flaw
