Arkon Removable Swivel Air Vent GPS Car Mount Holder for Garmin nuvi 40 50 200 2013 24x5 25x5 GPS

    • The only problem is you do need to be careful or you will break off the clips.
    • Reason why I gave it a 4/5 star is because I noticed the clips scratched my air vents quite a bit when I had a hard time putting it on
    • After I broke clips on this model twice while trying to re- mount it, I switched to a different type of mount.
    • The clips to hold the mount to your vent are cheap, I didnt if attemp to try and drive around with my gps flopping around.
    • clips are cheaply made broke within a week of use they are too short and
    • we rented this week, but the clips don't follow the contour of a Saturn VUE vent (probably not a big issue as Saturn has gone belly up)
    • The clips are a bit deep, so I have lost some of the aim mobility of that vent, but it has not been a problem either
    • Fits well - the vent clips loosen after a while from the heater and weight of the GPS but two small zip ties remedy that issue.
    • I feel this is due to two design flaws: 1) the cheap thermoplastic clips use lose their strength quickly- not being as tiff as they originally were and 2) the end of the clips have a vertical face when they should be angled a bit so they want to catch the air vent if something goes to pull the Garmin device out
    • The Arkon vent clip is a very clever design and locates my Garmin Nuvi 50 in a position that is easy to see and easy to reach
    • Just be sure that your air vents aren't too fragile as the clips on the mount are very hard to open and could scratch the paint on the vents.
    • the clip breaks easily
    • The clips are not strong enough to hold the unit on the vent.
    • Hold down clips are broken in four pieces two days after it was installed in the car.
    • But it is very brittle and just the weight of the unit was enough stress to break a clip off with normal driving.
    • another design which has (metal) springs installed in the vent clips to prevent this from happening, and it is a MUCH sturdier vent-based mount.
    • The clips broke off within 6 months or so.
    • This clip is easy to use, but the clip and teeth are so cheap and flimsy that when I press buttons on the GPS it moves all over the place
    • The top clips open and slide over the vent blade holding it securely
    • Worked well until one of the top clips broke
    • The quality to me was also iffy at best, the clips are easy to break and it just doesn't seem like it can keep a GPS stable without shaking.
    • The two clips are adjustable, they move around when trying to put the GPS unit on the vent
    • clips broke quickly and the product is poorly constructed.
    • I do not know if the problem is the temperatures they are exposed to being right on the vent (it has been very warm here, over 100 degrees for a few days so the vent is sending out very cool air right around the mount that would get very hot when the car is parked) warping the plastic or if I just happened to get defective clips, twice.
    • The clips on the mount are a little flimsy (you get what you pay for) but it seems that they hold up just fine as long as you don't use excessive force on them while they are mounted.
    • TTO129-ST-RVC TomTom ONE Removable ST Vent Mount clips for this mount?
    • Once you get it clipped to the dash, it's mostly OK, but those little clips look like they'll break off sooner or later
    • Clip broke first time I got to use it
    • The hardest part was squeezing the clips to get it over the vent slats and, frankly, I suspect my Mom could have done
    • The clips then broke off
    • The clips on this one seem stronger so I am hoping they work better
    • My only complaint is that it seems a little difficult to depress the clips
    • The 'clips' lose their tension over time and the mount no longer holds tight to the air vent
    • UPDATE-9/8/13: After several years of use the vent clips (plastic) would no longer close entirely, and the device would slip off the vents
    • The only problem I encountered was the vent clips fit a little to tight in the in the mount itself
    • You have to manually depress the clips to hook them to your vent and then depress them again to remove the unit.
    • I have bought two of these now, so I have some spare parts for the next time I break a clip.
    • However the clips that hold it to the vent itself are very weak and not long enough to hold the gps securely in place
    • The clips also loose all the time.
    • This clip is easy to use, but the clip and teeth are so cheap and flimsy that when I press buttons on the GPS it moves all over the place
    • The two clips are too flimsy to hold, and by the time to get those clips in correct locations, it was shaking and moved during the driving.
    • However, it would not stay put when I hit bumps in the road, and the clips are delicate.
    • As soon as the plastic warps a bit from use, this clip is going to fall off
    • However, the product is made very cheaply and the clips are extremely hard to reopen
    • Fits well - the vent clips loosen after a while from the heater and weight of the GPS but two small zip ties remedy that issue.
    • The clips keeps popping out of the main assembly and not very stable
    • Vent clip has broken after a week.
    • Bairly used and one of the vent clips broke
    • Nice Design, just lacking on the vent clips
    • They came in the mail very quickly and do seem to have more tension and appear sturdier that the original clips
    • Great idea but needs to be taken a bit further with metal vent clips.
    • GPS unit fell down during a stop and go traffic got lost in seat had to pullover and just use it on the passenger seat both retaining clips broke off with minimal ease.
    • The whole thing is made of the same plastic and the clips seems a little bit fragile
    • I had a problem with the product, the clips broke
    • Cheap short plastic clips can barely hold the gps units weight
    • However, last weekend one of the vent clips was carelessly broken by a car wash attendant and I began researching a new vent mount holder to purchase.
    • I love this little insert for my GPS.I looked high and low for other options to mount my GPS because i hate it on my dashboard and wind shield when i came across this vent clip
    • The clips were hard for my arthritic fingers to get open, but I succeeded in getting them attached to the vanes of my vent.
    • it would not stay securely "clipped" on the vent, flopping around with corners and bumps
    • When they two plastic air vent clips broke on me, they quickly sent me an entire new mount that had been re-designed with a better air vent clip.
    • When they two plastic air vent clips broke on me, they quickly sent me an entire new mount that had been re-designed with a better air vent clip.
    • I need more more resilient clips that won't work loose
    • The clips were hard for my arthritic fingers to get open, but I succeeded in getting them attached to the vanes of my vent.
    • replacement 10 clips for $2!BTW, the clips are very hard to squeeze open and get installed
    • Love the idea of no spring that can pop out and go down your car vent but the solid clip broke and went down the car vent!
    • Purchased this item as I broke a single clip
    • The inexpensive GPS clip has been used by me for 3+ years
    • I would give the product 5 stars if it had a better clip design which doesn't wear out over time
    • The clips broke within 30
    • On the other vehicle, the fins of the HVAC vent are too deep, and the clips can't reach the back to clip on, so the unit will fall off
    • The clips fit the vents perfectly and is very stable
    • The clips are very secure, in fact they're kind of a pain to get onto the vents because they're so tight
    • Trek Garmin Nuvi air vent mount with metal spring clip (Suitable for both horizontal & vertical vent mounting.
    • It does the job when you clip it to A/C vent and its cheap.
    • It is well designed and so convenient once you get the hang of attaching it to the A/C vent louvres, which was difficult at first attempt.
    • I like this item because:-it lets me mount the GPS in a place that doesnt take windshield space-it looks better this way.-with this, my gps is transferrable to other cars just as easy because every car i use has a/c vents.-it appears and so hard has held up as if its made of some tougher ABS-like plastic.-as long as you place it's clips correctly, you will have very little problems keeping it grounded to the vent.-the 2 clips on the upper end have adjustable placement for various vents.-on never cars, like my 09 escape, the a/c vent shades are a little thicker and this unit stays gripped on the vent shades very well.-this item is very cheap to buy.-places the GPS out of sight of people outside your car when your driving, depending on how the a/c vents on your car are located.-the GPS angle is still adjustable with these a/c mounts
