Arkon Removable Swivel Air Vent GPS Car Mount Holder for Garmin nuvi 40 50 200 2013 24x5 25x5 GPS

    • Well, you are attaching a hard plastic component to a hard point of your car, so if your car shakes a lot, expect that the unit will too.
    • The vent holder is a great idea, but it needs to be made of something other than a cheap plastic that breaks easily.
    • Very cheap flimsy plastic
    • Cheap, low grade plastic from overseas
    • (Garmin 205w)also it comes in a clear plastic bag no instructions,
    • UPDATE 5/27/15Bought again as the MFG said they were making them from stronger plastic
    • Stiffer plastic and some foam on the clips would easily make this product useable, but you get what you pay for in this case.
    • Perhaps it doesn't hold the GPS extremely steadily(for example, it will more around if you use your hand to push it:-)), and the plastic looks a bit cheap, but overall it's good enough
    • plastic is flimsy and broke
    • I do not know if the problem is the temperatures they are exposed to being right on the vent (it has been very warm here, over 100 degrees for a few days so the vent is sending out very cool air right around the mount that would get very hot when the car is parked) warping the plastic or if I just happened to get defective clips, twice.
    • Works well in our vents, it is cheap, not the thickest plastic, but does the job, and great for trips where you rent cars and bring your own GPS.
    • The vents in my Infiniti are of quite a sturdy plastic build and they work fine with no risk of breakage
    • It's very cheap plastic
    • this is the second plastic car vent mount device I have tried.
    • Works well in our vents, it is cheap, not the thickest plastic, but does the job, and great for trips where you rent cars and bring your own GPS.
    • It is made out of very fragile plastic that brakes easily.
    • Flimsy, cheap plastic.
    • As one reviewer said, it depends upon the strength of the vent plastic
    • UPDATE-9/8/13: After several years of use the vent clips (plastic) would no longer close entirely, and the device would slip off the vents
    • The package it came in was super cheap (just a plastic bag), and the plastic on this item feels very cheap, but it provides surprisingly stable base for GPS
    • This thing is cheap plastic but WAY overpriced on Amazon!
    • I had to reinforce the plastic with rubber bands because when i hit a bump the clips would lose their grip and everything ended up on the floor.
    • Tried to mount on a Ford Explorer vents and this cheap plastic contraption doen't hold/latch onto vents much less holds the weight of my garmin numi 2595LMT.
    • Love the placement on the vent - very handy location, but plastic adjustable arms stretched apart over time
    • Everything was ok until I removed the GPS, both of the top plastic arms broke off and one fell in to the ac vent
    • The only issue I have is that the plastic on the clips lose their spring after attaching and detaching from the vent over time and eventually the clips won't secure the plate to the vent any more
    • Made of cheap plastic and can easily break if you force it to stay.
    • The plastic seemed really brittle
    • Cheap short plastic clips can barely hold the gps units weight
    • This softens the plastic and it loses it's grip on the vent vanes
    • However, when I wanted to remove my GPS, I could not pull it off the swivel ball easily enough and the pressure trying, broke the plastic.
    • The mount has a lifetime warranty and Arkon has an easy way to order the replacement clips (see comment from Aaron at Arkon below as well as in the question section)
    • Trek Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi 200, 200W, 250, 250W, 260, 260W, 270, 205, 205W, 255, 255W, 265T, 265WT, 275T, 500, 550, 680, 750, 760The iTrek mount arms are spring-loaded which make it much more secure than the Arkon.
    • It does the job when you clip it to A/C vent and its cheap.
    • It is well designed and so convenient once you get the hang of attaching it to the A/C vent louvres, which was difficult at first attempt.
    • I like this item because:-it lets me mount the GPS in a place that doesnt take windshield space-it looks better this way.-with this, my gps is transferrable to other cars just as easy because every car i use has a/c vents.-it appears and so hard has held up as if its made of some tougher ABS-like plastic.-as long as you place it's clips correctly, you will have very little problems keeping it grounded to the vent.-the 2 clips on the upper end have adjustable placement for various vents.-on never cars, like my 09 escape, the a/c vent shades are a little thicker and this unit stays gripped on the vent shades very well.-this item is very cheap to buy.-places the GPS out of sight of people outside your car when your driving, depending on how the a/c vents on your car are located.-the GPS angle is still adjustable with these a/c mounts
