At 18 months, two of them inexplicably chew through batteries in a couple days and they are new, good quality batteries with the 3rd camera going 3 months on these same batteries

so you'll need to buy better batteries that'll last longer.

After recording hours of nothing the batteries will be dead

But the cameras are almost useless for a property you only visit each 3 or 4 weeks because batteries are constantly going dead

BUT man these batteries drain VERY QUICK

The 1 camera that does work gets activity a couple times a week (pool guy) and the battery in that has lasted months and still shows a good battery life left in the software

Currently, I can't login from my computer, only my phone, 4 of the 5 cameras which all have fresh batteries are off line, and I've been waiting for 3 days to hear back from customer support

These batteries are expensive (a 12 pack is at least $20) and each camera requires 4 batteries

That being said they are pricey and the batteries are HORRIBLE!

The new batteries are terrible

One of it drain out battery fast, I call for replacement three times

Good picture quality, good battery life, but the mostion sensors work extremely poorly unless the camera is indoors

However, replacing the batteries is highly annoying, and expensive.

Also at this time, another one of my cameras started having a battery draining issue so the batteries would only last about 3 days in it before it would die and kill the batteries

First, there's some kind of well known flaw in them, where the IR switch will get stuck on, which a) will give a red tint to everything, and b) drain the batteries like crazy.

The live video is great quality but drains battery very quickly.

I have the camera settings set to lowest quality to get the best battery life, we set up the cameras 5 days ago and ALREADY had to chance the battery out yesterday

"okay, these four expensive batteries should last a while".

Note that these batteries are not cheap

I recently started buying rechargeables, and so far those are working ok, but they don't last quite as long- Changing out the batteries is a pain, so you often don't install in areas that you would like to..-

I went to the Arlo web site to see which batteries they recommended and went to Amazon to buy them

Also, any motion will trigger a recording so if it's pointing at a tree there is no way to set a specific zone to watch so the battery will die within a month.

The second issue took several sets of (expensive) batteries to troubleshoot

I have three, and with the battery life and the constant problems, I was up on a ladder fiddling with at least one of them a month for the past two years

Needless to say, when you put in fresh batteries and get an email next day that your Arlo is dead, that peace of mind you you were looking for from a home camera evaporates

We had a statue stolen from our front yard only to discover that the batteries in the cameras were dead and we had never been notified.

The lack of wires is nice, but the cameras burn through expensive batteries.

I realize that continuous recording would drain the batteries too quick but this seems to be the only viable way to record all activity and capture every second of an event with the camera

The system is simple and I am sure if you get a unit that works as it should, it is probably a pretty good product.
