ARRIS SURFboard Gigabit Docsis 3.1 Cable Modem, 10 Gbps Max Speed, Approved for Cox, Spectrum and Xfinity, (SB8200 Frustration Free)

    • a 'Superior' cable Tech that ownsone went through the same thing
    • While the SB6183 is not cutting edge technology any longer, it is one of the best cable modems I have used.
    • This is an excellent cable modem.
    • I sent it back and bought the Netgear C6250 cable & modem router combo, which works great
    • Able to handle plenty of speed that any normal home use would require (only going to be as fast as the cable speed you are purchasing).
    • Perfectly fine modem but who the heck doesn’t include a cable!?!?
    • Arris has plenty of workable cable modems for 50 mps service but this unit did not work.
    • perfect cable modem, it's been up for weeks not a single hiccup
    • Super fast cable modem!
    • no complaints really cause arris (Motorola owned) makes great cable modems
    • Very reliable cable modem.
    • Do not forget that higher wired speeds need better cabling too so all wired cables should use cat5e or cat6 cabling
    • Excellent stable cable modem!!
    • The SB8200 (CM8200) series is the best cable modem for DOCSIS 3.1 that is widely supported at the time of this review
    • This is a reliable Cable Modem with excellent Enet speed.
    • While this may be a good Gigabit/DOCSIS 3.1 modem, it has a critically flawed firmware that is vulnerable to the Sagemcom Fast 3890 / "Cable Haunt" exploit
    • I purchased and installed the SB6183 when my cable provider (WOW) told me that the reason for the poor throughput we were seeing was that we needed a DOCSIS 3 modem
    • Its a very compact yet very powerful cable modem
    • Called Amazon and they are sending me another one but don't except used items to work as they are probably associated on a different account
    • Evidently the DHCP doesn't work as you'd expect (i.e. modem is online, connect a router, router asks for and receives an IP address).
    • When I unscrewed the coax and pulled the plug and let sit for an hour and then hooked everything back up everything worked as it should.
