    ARRIS SURFboard SB6183 Modem 16x4 Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem- Retail Packaging- White

    • It does seem warm to the touch, as others have mentioned, but no heat issues so far.
    • Other users complain of heat issues, but I don't notice any excessive heat, and it's no different that my SB6141, or the SB6190 that I returned
    • I placed an electrical fan underneath it and it fixed the heat issue, so I was going to keep it even though the heat issue concerned me
    • (Note: I have not noticed any performance issues with this modem so far as a result of heat issues).
    • but that's a matter of taste.-Have it paired to a nighthawk AC 'router' that is 20 feet away via CAT7 cable.-Sort of unrelated, but cable company (TWC, now Spectrum) uses arris cableboxes that are underprovisioned for the workload they perform and have heat issues that impact their performance after hours of use
    • I have not seen any heating issues or speed issues with this modem
    • it doesn't bother me as I have a small book in front of it which blocks the light at night (studio apartment).
    • It smells as if there is burning plastic that is emitting a chemical
    • Minimally Qualified” as of 1/12/18 and Spectrum can’t guarantee speed or reliability with this product
    • Good quality and it works as it supposed to.
    • Works great as of 6-29-18
    • Comcast sucks as much money as they can
    • Regardless the cable company is to blame as they chose it
