I mean the mission is out in the open during daylight and it's wanting me to kill people and inevitably raise my danger level?

It can be fun to incite a riot as a slave, charm gaurds as a lady, or just straight up hang people as an Assassin

Killing people comes as easy as it ever has in AC and is just as fun

It's very fun to explore and slaughter people

The only complaint I have is that the combat difficulty has been drastically lowered, making it far too simple to kill people

I suspect people who want to 'complete' the game could be busy for weeks

I don't doubt that people have had the problems they say they have, I just haven't had any problems so far,

If you like walking around real slow around people looking for innocuous nothings, not really killing/fighting much, or getting spotted by guards for no good reason, this game is for you.
