I was using a high quality 10 foot cable for a while and I would always getting flickering and an odd popping noise from the monitor

This results in display corruption, loss of signal, strange noises, etc.

Apart from the odd noise, the screen is fine.

For the past couple months, whenever I wake up my computer the monitor takes now 10 seconds with lots of rattling noise from the back of the screen before turning on (after showing gray/snow)
