wish it had worked out but too much money for something to give me so much grief.. even after hard resets towards the end it wouldn't connect to the internet.. hooked the 5300 back up and took 5 minutes to have it going.. just need another 5300 to hook up in aimesh to get the rest of my smart home up and running.

The Asus routers that are compatible with the Asus AI mesh set up make a really nice home system with a couple routers set up in a 3000 square-foot house the coverage is spectacular and the speeds are awesome

Wifi connections are not secure, because they can get intercepted by RF frequency scanners, as well as cordless home phones, old and new generations

so I tried lowering them and turning my smart home stuff off (alexa enabled, also highly recommended

Leaving the router as a wifi 5 unit.(something to have in consideration if you want to get it as mesh system)As a single main router unit, nothing but good things for this small unit, specifically if your main thing is streaming and smart home devices

But with so many devices these days, that could really disturb a home founded on automation

All I can say is that the best home router I have ever had in my 20 + years networking experience

This allows remote accessing of home devices easy as we do not have to worry about ISP changing your IP address and reconfigure VPN access etc

They completely covered my home with wifi signal and none of my devices ever lost connection to the mesh devices themselves (but the backhaul DID loose connection, thus the internet would drop, but the connection from external devices to the wifi would not drop).Full disclosure, I DID have to change the channels manually
