The range on this is fantastic, my house isn't too big but in locations where I would get 1 bar of reception before, now I get full bars

After setting all of this up, we are now more than fully blanketed with WiFi throughout our house, and even have excellent 2.4Ghz range outside on our driveway for when we watch movies outside under the stars :

The thing looks like a beast once assembled, and with all the antennas I was expecting fantastic signal strength, but the range wasnt any better than our older Cisco Linksys 2500 System.

I bought this router in hopes of getting the best range and throughput,

Range could possibly improve if the antenna would actually stay up

Maybe I just got a bad device, but after all that trouble and knowing that I would never be able to keep a dfs channel stabling broadcasted in my current house, I decided to return it and am now using something that supports the 52-64 dfs channel range from a different brand

Was easy to set up, has amazing range and great features

AImesh is a sounds good on paper but is unstable, likely because of the poor range on these

Easy to set up, speed is faster than my old Apple modem, range is very good

Those things dropped connections, range was decent, but have an issue with WIFI 6 and WIFI 5 devices connected to it at the same time

Range is excellent and something I think Asus does exceptionally well in general.

But the problem with that is it had terrible range

The WiFi range on this is much better then your average $200 router

EDIT September 15th 2020: went back to dropping connections and having a weak range

In fact, making ANY changes to the default LAN settings (eg, restricting the DHCP address range, adding DHCP reservations) breaks DNS

The moment I hooked it up, the signal was vastly improved (stronger=> all devices have all bars in home; wider range=> connection 120 ft away; faster=> 6 phones, 2 echos, Nvidia Sheild TV, 3 Firesticks, PS4, 2 4K TV's, 3 computers, and doesn't miss a beat!

Also the range isn't that great either

Not quite as blazing fast as I was hoping for, but it's a drastic improvement

My 2G band speeds tanked after the update and doing the factory reset fixed it

Secondly, connecting thru 2.5G port worked really good, and was fairly easy to setup

b/g/n/ac (no ax) or ax only

So the AX radio 5G-2 leaves much to be desired.
