ASUS Whole Home Dual-Band AiMesh Router (AC1900) for Mesh Wifi System (Up to 1900 Mbps) - AiProtection Network Security by Trend Micro, Adaptive QoS & Parental Control (RT-AC68U)

    • Works fine as a router but it will not recognize my external hard drive via the USB port.
    • The ability to plug in my WD Passport external hard drive means I can watch saved movies any where in the house
    • Upon restart of router, can't access files from attached hard drive until drive scanning is completed
    • Adding a hard drive to function as NAS is a waste of time
    • I have 2 hard drives hooked up to it
    • I have 3 ipads, 2 cellphones, 3 laptops, PS3 and PS4, a wireless printer, and an external hard drive attached.
    • ..it works well so far but the USB connectors don't work whether USB2.0 OR 3.0, I tested them with all of my USB devices, portable hard drive even external-powered hard drive
    • Well enough to stream movies from hard drives
    • Never recognizes any 3.0 hard drives I've plugged in
    • ..it works well so far but the USB connectors don't work whether USB2.0 OR 3.0, I tested them with all of my USB devices, portable hard drive even external-powered hard drive
    • I have had various other problems with other hardware purchased for computers; some faulty hard drives, ram and motherboards from other companies, and in every other situation the RMA has been handled after working replacements have arrived at my door step
    • The router menus are not very user friendly, but after setting up external hard drives connected to this thing, it performs very well
    • I bought a 3TB USB hard drive and plugged it into the router, now I have a shared files folder for anyone in the house to use
    • Now I can plug in a hard drive and stream all my videos to any device
    • So if you purchase do so with caution, cause you might find your signal gone or wonder where your hard drive run off too
• I have not tested the USB hard drive or print sharing options yet.
    • I can't get anything to network the attached hard drive (via USB).
    • I don't have a need to have a hard drive attached, so I didn't play with that
    • Reason not a five star was that I wanted to set up a 5tb hard drive connected to the USB3 port and use the drive to provide data to the entire household network of four Macs without having to leave one running as a server
    • Other time I hear hard drive spin up for no reason
    • Plugging it into the USB 2.0 port (which kind of defeats the purpose anyway), produces a connected but unmounted and seemingly unmountable drive - equally useless
    • Failed to connect properly to a brand new LaCie 5TB USB 3.0 hard drive formatted in HTF+, both as a single drive and as multiple partitions (tried both ways)
    • I connected a 500g hard drive to the usb2 port to share files
    • GUI interface it pauses and waits for attached hard drive to spin up (wake up) before you can proceed
    • Rec’d error message “ISP’s DHCP is not finctioning properly”
    • This is the most expensive router I’ve purchased, and I’m moving on from a misbehaving D-Link DIR-860L which, to it’s credit, lasted for a few years.
    • Bought this to replace a garbage D-Link that was disconnecting randomly.
    • works great i like it a lot
