BTW, my photo is taken in decent light and shows what that display really looks like.
-
LCD display very hard to read, not enough light or contrast - even after making adjustments
-
the display is clear, as long as there is good light, very hard to see in subdued light
-
It's light and works well
-
CONS: too much battery usage.(for speakphone and speakerphone button light, mute, call info LED light, LCD display
-
This is a nice phone for a really well lit room.
-
I could live with the caller ID mess but without a backlit screen it's next to impossible to read the screen without decent lighting
-
the light for the display doesn't work but everything else does
-
That allows you to go from the 7 speed dial numbers on the top (notice light and gray divisions) to the 7 number on the lower list.
-
If you have reasonably good light, it shouldn't be a problem.
-
The phone has a bright red light that flashes whenever the phone is in use.
-
However, even though the screen "light" is set to #1 there is no light, that green perfect light on the photo is not there, not when trying to set options and not when the phone rings, no light
-
the display is clear, as long as there is good light, very hard to see in subdued light
-
I like the speaker phone, programmable numbers, a pleasant, not too loud ring, and if my husband is using the upstairs phone, my caller ID screen says "Line In Use" and a soft light comes on to alert me not to pick up
-
The display needs the proper lighting to be seen, even after contrast was adjusted to its max
-
I cannot see the caller ID if there is not enough light in the room
-
So if the lighting where the phone is located is not adequate you may have trouble reading the caller ID.
-
I would give this five stars if the caller ID wasn't so difficult to read (bright light right over the display is needed).

I just got off the phone with AT&T tech support (in India, naturally) and they said since it was purchased more than a year ago, my warranty is expired, and I'll have to buy a whole new phone!
