My wife wanted to play vinyl's for its warm sound and nostalgic feel, and found an over-priced AT-LP60 at Barnes & Noble.

It will most certainly do the job and do it well for anyone whether you are a casual listener who prefers the warm analog sound of Vinyl or want to use it for DJ purposes

There is a video somewhere on how to remove the installed preamp in order to get a better sound, but so far I am impressed as are my audiophile friends who have spent thousands on their custom setups.

It's a good starter turntable, however, while you're not able to tell the difference (and maybe even for a little longer).Pros:- Adjustable for the most part (counterweight, height adjust, etc).- Starndard AT95E cartridge is pretty decent and upgradable (low-end TTs don't allow these)- S-curved tone arm- Tons of blows and whistles (strobe dots, target light, pitch adjustment, etc).- Heavy, solid and stable TT body, translates into pretty decent sound.- Integrated pre-amp saves you money (although with a caveat, see cons below).Cons:-The anti-skating adjustment is almost for show (doesn't work very well, doesn't cover the full range needed)

I found that the Quartz lock speed control causes the motor to make a fairly loud grumbling sound when you put drag on it to clean a revolving record.
