    • There are no ground wires to hook up either
    • Removing the pre-amp circuitry is straightforward and doable by anyone: open the unit with 8 screws, cut two wires, disconnect a connector, then splice/solder/wire-nut three grounds and two signal wires together, running a new wire out the back to ground to your pre-amp
    • Every turntable I have ever owned since about 1967 has had the phono leads hard wired
    • But not sure how good those places were - I am now tempted to either A. Buy a receiver and see if it will work differently then or B. Carefully open her up myself as I really do think it is as simple as a loose wire that got tugged on one too many times
