    Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7BK SonicPro Over-Ear High-Resolution Audio Headphones, Black

    • Though these headphones are not technically noise-cancelling, ambient noise is muffled and becomes almost unnoticeable when music is playing
    • The headphones cancel out very little ambient noise
    • The ear cups do an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise, as well
    • it is a nice soft felt lined pleather, but I can’t forgive the lack of closing clasp- Word of caution - must have reasonable expectations – these are not noise isolating (nor marketed as such) so do not really sufficiently reduce the sounds of talking and will respond differently to varying ambient noise, I have had headphones that do a better job of making me feel like I am in a sound booth than these
    • On an airplane, they do a good job at blocking out ambient noise even when the content being listened to isn't too loud
    • I took these along on a recent (6 hour) plane trip as I find the ambient noise of airliner cabins (chatter, engine noise, etc.) to be both annoying and distracting when I am trying to listen to music (or an audiobook.
    • The earpads are nice and plush as they should be, plenty big for my ears, but aren't huge or overly soft

    • I can tell that these are very much meant for the casual listener, as they did not benefit from an amp from what I could tell
    • The new Momentum's (especially wireless) are about as close to perfect as you can get for a portable consumer headphone
