The sound is clear and fairly well balanced so that you can hear great nuances to the music

PM-3 and now the MSR7 have failed to strike the right balance

I've tried beats and I've tried Sony MDRs and these headphones must admit, are extremely well balanced

I was listening to some classical a while ago, and I thought that the balance was perfect.

Depending on the recording, bass is more than sufficient and powerful with accurate balance with the highs and mid-range

It is brutally revealing as such - you can tell if the recording has air and space and is balanced well, think of these phones as a audio X-Ray tool.

So, putting the Hi-Res issue aside, at least in this capacity, and evaluating the headphones simply on basic performance, they are a solid audio device with a well-balanced sound and excellent music reproduction

If you want a good balance between sound quality and NC, just get yourself the ANC9

The QC25's are pretty well balanced, with a decent bass (close to MSR7, not as refined) and good mid and treble range, They are still much more relaxing a listen

I'd love to keep them but these have to be a good balance between good sound and great ANC

The new Momentum's (especially wireless) are about as close to perfect as you can get for a portable consumer headphone

I have a pair of M50x's as well as with several other pairs of headphones, but these are by far my favorite set now

the next step up was their ESP "phones"Koss ESP-950 Electrostatic Stereophone but at about a grand each and the lack of portability, for those reasons they weren't even a consideration
