If you're recording in an imperfect recording environment (which the vast majority of people are), this really allows you to get very good audio without worrying too much about acoustics

In almost no time at all I was getting crisp and amazing voice recording out of this mic using the usb connection

Played it back and loved what I heard as it was the best recording I've done to date thanks to this microphone

That said, you still need to speak loudly to have a proper recorded sound and use a foam around the microphone to reduce sensitive "tsss" or "sshh".

There's no question the audio recording quality of this unit is stunning, and perhaps one of the best recording devices for the price ever.

I can't speak to how well this records for home music recording; you may consider going with a more professional mic and a high-quality interface

Bottom line, the versatility of this mic makes for a great recording experience, I haven't, and won't, attempt singing voice or instruments, but ambient noise and talking voice have been stellar

i did pick up a dragonpad doo-dad to block out the "ps" and "bs" and sounds of breathing into the mic. and recording #2 was much better than #1

My only gripe at this point is that the analog signal level is fairly low (as is typical for a dynamic mic), so I have to turn my preamps up to get a reasonable recording level, which adds a little hiss

I had a little bit of a learning curve on how to get the best sound out of the ATR2100, but since I got it working right with Garageband it has been smooth recording.

But that gripe aside, the sound quality is great, and it only needs minor processing to clean up post recording.

i use it for mostly recording singing and music and as long as your somewhere quiet, you always get a clear quality that mimics actual studio time

It can still pick you up (kind of) from a foot away or so, but don't expect to use this at that distance and get a good recording

When recording using a pop filter and in a recording area, the pickup was very good and provided a nice warm recording of my voice
