I ordered the BF-F8HP as an addition to my UV-5R, and the first unit I received was disappointing because the status light was not functioning, and the plastic PTT button was installed upside down (how does that happen?

Also one unit has constant static, even with squelch turned up all the way.

Received this unit on time and it works great

IMHO this unit works just as well as all of the other radios I have used

but my unit broke with little to light use on the 38th day of having it, while in mid TX the unit just cut off

Excellent unit high power is beautiful, I have three other Baofung radios and love every one of them.

If I were a HAM licensed operator, this would be an ideal unit as it covers so much more than ship-to-shore comm.

The new unit does lack the click sound when I turn it on, but that's minor (so far).
