BaoFeng UV-5R Dual Band Two Way Radio (Black)

    • at the moment my review is its ok. gets a lot of interference breaking the 9 squelch.
    • My only complaint is that the squelch is a little too aggressive, even on the lowest setting (aside from off of course).
    • The problems are it has poor squelch that i leave at 9 which is usually pretty
    • It takes finesse to program from the keypad and the squelch settings are useless but it is a $30 HT.
    • It was like the squelch was set too high, but no matter what setting I put it on, I could not hear most signals without holding down the MONI button.
    • The two biggest downfalls of this radio for me are the receiver is not more selective and sensitive and that it has a horrible squelch tail
    • The squelch doesn't seem to knock it out
    • There battery life is not as great as these with extended battery but there receive is better, squelch is better, come with a better antenna you can buy for
    • Leaves a nasty squelch noise when you un-key over repeaters.
    • The squelch is a problem as it came, but there is a website that has a program to change the range and it now works well.
    • The different LED’s are nice
    • The UV-5R is still the gold standard for a CHEAP but effective H/T.
    • Great little H/T
