BaoFeng UV-5R Dual Band Two Way Radio (Black)

    • The weakest thing it has is the manual, that is really really poor.
    • Don't be mad you paid 5 times as much for an "american made" Kenwood which is still just made in China - this thing works well.
    • Love this thing, buy them before you can’t anymore
    • With the Boafengs, that range was extended to about 3 miles in heavy urban areas but, utilizing ham repeaters ( which you must have a license to do legally) that range can be extended to tens of miles even up to 100.The other great thing about the Baofeng as opposed to ones like the Midland, is that all frequencies from 136-174 and 400-480 are fullyprogrammable
    • For the price it’s a great thing to have on the boat as a backup radio but just gotta keep it away from the water itself as it is not water resistant.
    • I love this thing.
    • Nice thing
    • one of the best thing that i have bought, great reception, long battery life, will take a little while to figure out all
    • I love these things.
    • Man is this the best thing ever!!
    • Best thing going for bike to bike
    • Get data cable and search for some software and this thing is easy to program
    • When emergency strikes, the most important thing is communication
    • Every thing great
    • thing didnt even friggin work , on top of that all info including CD was in chinese
    • Love it only thing is it small
    • :The light is a nice touch, not bright but it does help when really neededFM was a big thing for me while working as well, nice to haveThe basic and dull design was a big factor for me
    • Great little thing, good buy for $25 check it out for yourself.
    • These things are solid
    • Well what can I say this thing is solid and works great
    • Well what can I say this thing is solid and works great
    • This thing really works
    • These things are amazing
    • When emergency strikes, the most important thing is communication
    • This radio will not transmit far enough to actually speak back to dispatch, I can hear things usually but even that is broken
    • Everything seems to be in working order, the only thing bad I've had with it are the antenna screws were damaged so I'll have to replace it
    • Thing is awesome and high versatile.
    • I bought 2 of these as gifts for my daughter and son-in-law thinking they'd need antenna upgrades like my UV5RV2 plus but to my surprise they have the same antenna as my UV82 which is a good thing
    • I have a lot of good things to say about this radio and a couple of minor issues
    • I have only good things to say about it
    • maybe).I think this single radio might be the most important thing in Amateur communications since Marconi put Tesla's patents to use, and the only reason that Ham radio will survive and grow in the digital age.
    • I was a skeptic, yes but have to admit, I love this little thing and will probably order another as a spare.73'
    • Does many things well
    • Sure they're cheap but not even a cheap thing should just randomly fail without ever being moved.
    • I got this radio to get started into VHF and have heard many good things about it and Baofeng in general
    • I’ve dropped this thing from 5+ feet onto concrete and I’ve fallen onto it multiple times and it doesn’t even have a single scratch
    • This thing is great
    • This thing is awesome
    • I've put this thing through so much in the years that I've had it and it STILL works
    • These things are golden
    • This little things is awesome, great signal and
    • This is a good radio for the price, feels solid, there are some youtube videos of people trying to destroy these things and they take a beating
    • That is one of most important things for me .
    • Only bad bad thing that I found was the instructions on usage and how to set up were nonexistent
    • This thing is brilliant!
    • I would not use this for a primary radio but having a few of these on hand for emergency service would not be a bad thing
    • I have left this thing scanning for days, taken it on trips of 300+ miles, and never picked up a damn thing
    • They make a very good Marine Band radio to carry on things like jet skis so that losing it in the lake doesn't cost much.
    • It's easy enough to program at home with the programming cable, but it's not exactly the most intuitive things when out in the field.
    • Heard nothing but good things about this radio but unfortunately my first experience wasn't great
    • There are some really fun things on this, like I can get NOAA weather radio real good on it, FM radio so I can listen to the local AIR-1 station, a light, a panic alarm button.
    • I do not understand how it is the best selling radio, and people talking bad things about it
    • Love these things
    • For the money this thing is awesome!
    • It lets you do some pretty cool things, such as setting the squelch values (refining what 0 thru 9 do), the power-on messages, the names of the memory locations, and a few other things.
    • My favorite part is the flesible antenna labeled in the picture, that’s a handy thing to have.
    • The good thing is that you can keep buying them when you break
    • The coolest thing I think, is that the space station has a 2 meter radio, so you can say "hi" to the astronauts.
    • Besides that this thing is a great thing to have, I would say get HAM certified to do more with it than receiving.
    • Great Radio can't say enough good things about it
    • I could add both more good, and more not so good things about this radio but you should have to gest by now
    • DON"T bother with the so called Baofeng programming disc.
    • Great little H/T
    • The UV-5R is still the gold standard for a CHEAP but effective H/T.
    • Great little H/T
    • Amazing i get all the channels i need but a little bit of a bitch to program
