Get the protection plan from Amazon as some retailers do not honor the warranty.

Warranty is useless

Sent email to Baofeng requesting information of replacement belt clip (should be warranty) and they have ignored all of my requests

In other words the warranty is useless

Buyer Beware - Baofeng only honors the warranty through their US office that puts it off on the reseller represented by Amazon

Unit failed it was barely used for 4 hours, seller won't honor the warranty

I bumped it up another star as they had good communication with me and said they will send out a replacement charger

DON"T bother with the so called Baofeng programming disc.
