I feel that I am lucky because mine works

Radio work great easy to program.

When someone dropped my Motorola FRS radio in a stream and it stopped working I purchased this one because my teammate had recommended it.

The antenna alone is just fine in your own area depending where you are works great it gets about 5 to 10 mile range from my area, it all depends on where you are located and what frequencies you can scan and pick up from you location

Very nice radios work great range is pretty good battery life last over 8

But once you understand it, it does work very well.

The bad: it's hard to operate, program, comes with terrible instructions and sort of works

I have seen that each new Baofeng product appears to address the flaws of the last, so I plan to replace the useless UV-5R(the less-used one works just fine and looks brand new) with a newer Baofeng equivalent.

Works well when its working, but on day 1 it took a shoulder height fall, (clipping it onto my shoulder, and missed) and fell onto concrete

I'd guess 18 hours of steady work will drain it

Their light weight and the back lit LED is useful when working in the dark.

I have a couple of these now, they are great little radios and work awesome with VHF, I use them for desert riding to keep in communication with the rest of the pack of vehicles.

The charger and radio suddenly stopped working, disappointed :-(

The dual watch works fine, nice to have the FM

The radios work quite well and adding a high gain antennae really helps them reach out if a repeater is in range

For the price and with two different whips this is working great for my needs around town and in the car.

They are very fragile, and I have gone through three, and something always fails relatively quickly, either a button stops working or the battery drain instantly, or the mic just stops working without a PTT.Tired of buying and having to replace.
