Failed as a surge protector and almost burned down my house

Sent surge protector to Belkin with claim and claim was denied due to the item tested as working as normal.

It makes me wonder if surge protectors are such a fire hazard on the whole that it's dangerous to attach them to structures, which means they are actually too dangerous to use

It is never worth buying a cheap power strip or surge protector from an unverified UL tested company.

The power surge protect keeps tripping when I using the heater that other outlets and power surge protectors do not have the same issue

Then the stupid surge protector falls on the floor, and we have to fish it out from under and behind furniture, along with transformers/plugs that have all been pulled out and then do the whole jigsaw puzzle again

The outlet itself has been tested by an electrician and it is completely functional - but the surge protector is dead in the water

Plugged the new TV and DirectTV box into it and found the power & surge protector to be dead

Another surge protector did its job and protected my other TV from the same power surge.

This surge protector fixed that problem easily since it has a flat plugger-inner

Are surge protectors dangerous, or are their designers just stupid?
