    • You need to use a good headphone amp to get a high enough volume.
    • While I don't mind carrying around a portable amp for the most part, I think the 80 ohms would have been more convenient for my purposes.
    • Both amps are flat balancing without emphasizing or boosting the bass, so I don't quite get the thump I'd really like but bass is definitely present.
    • Hell even a FIO portable amp will do wonders to help the headphones reach their true potential
    • if anyone were planning on getting these do yourself a favor and get a nice amp to go with them
    • If you don't want to be fiddling with a headphone amp, portable or not, then there are options for lower impedance (ie: 80 Ohm).
    • They do need a hefty amp as they're 250 ohm phones.
    • The only complaint that I have is that at 250 ohms you really need a good amp to drive them
    • Better amps will sound better, but the Magni is a very nice amp to pair with the DT770 250 Ohm version for a reasonable price
    • if you plan on buying these buy a good amp to go with it.
    • I use a portable amp with my iphone and it works great
    • I use a portable amp with my iphone and it works great
    • The amp has output impedance of 1 ohm max and will drive phones from 32 to 600 ohms, taking them typically up to 120 dB SPL, with 200 mW minimum power for 32 to 150 ohm phones (with 75 ohm phones being optimum at 239 mW, and yielding 146 mW for 300 ohm phones)
    • Really need a powerful amp for these.
    • Recommend a good amp, or solid onboard audio.
    • finally, the fiio e12 is a very good portable amp for the 770
    • Works well without an amp on mobile devices, but a good amp is recommended to get the full sound across all frequencies
    • It sounded fine on the Marsh solid-state Class-A amp.
    • Hell even a FIO portable amp will do wonders to help the headphones reach their true potential
    • I highly doubt one would be able to drive it without the proper amp, but pairing one with this will ensure a great experience
    • The Schiit Magni is the best amp in it's price range
    • Despite having high impedance, my computers seem capable of driving them well, and I can get adequate performance from my phone without my portable amp
    • You just need to have a decent pre-amp to plug them into.
    • They need a good headphone amp to drive them well, but I use them in a studio setting with good headphone amps.
    • so i strongly recommend getting a portable amp nothing too much maybe the fiio-E6 or E11...these things
    • These are mostly for at home listening through a proper Amp and DAC
    • This headphone needs a good amp to shine.
    • They are also great for checking mixes in the low end, as well as during the mastering process, for picking up problems in the low end and mid-low end, as well as the high end, where overly harsh highs will be brought out by these phones
    • I was worried because the material seemed to squeak a
    • Another thing about these, and any other headphones, is that the sound will improve as the cans break in
    • When I first plugged these headphones in I wasn`t that impressed as I bought them primarily for the enhanced bass, my previous cans the Sony Mdr-1r were lacking in this
    • Use these for recording/tracking as well as with my V-Drums.
    • I HATE Sennheisers as they have no emotion and a very sterile sound.
    • Honestly, have to say the treble is just as good on these as on the HD800s
