The V1020 uses a high power amplifier (designed by BASH technology) which explodes with 160 RMS watts (350 watts peak) of undistorted bass! It incorporates a heavy-duty long excursion 10" woofer. The V1020 is "Venturi" ported and features an adjustab...
The first one I tried after reading a barrage of good reviews in Amazon is Polk PSW 10, which to be very honest with you should not be called a sub woofer, because it all it does is some rumble sound and no base, next I tried the HSU STF-1, which I must say a fantastic product, had I have a bigger room and more powerful speaker set I would have settled for it, but my speakers were too small for it, so I finally ordered the Bic 1020, after researching that it has almost similar spec as with the STF-1, and boy what a choice, it is a perfect match for my system

I had to downsize from an awesome 7.3 setup to a bedroom setup
We have a moderately good surround system setup, with a Denon receiver and Boston Acoustic cube speakers (7.1 channel) in a large family room (26'x20'x10'ceiling & carpet) and the subwoofer fills the room with quality sound.
In short, it's more than capable for someone looking for a nice way to boost their home-audio setup for a relatively low cost

Also, you can BARELY hear some sublag (this is when the speaker has to work its way up to the full potential, and can affect the quality).

This way I enjoy my front channel bass while getting atmospheric bass from the subwoofer and direction sound from my T15s
I purchased some years back,I can't remember what I paid but it is still going strong today and I love the way it makes my music sound nice and punchy and not to boomy pretty accurate bass.

After using the mic to run the calibration on the Onkyo, the correct crossover was determined and a smooth bass that blends seamlessly with the music was quickly dialed in.
I'm actually a big Yammy fan but wanted one with a dedicated LFE input and adjustable crossover.
Once you've broken this puppy in and have found the right crossover for your main speakers, try several locations to see how it performs in your environment.

Others have said that the Bic V12 is a better value and I have no doubt that a 12 inch front firing sub will put out more bass than the v1020 however as I write this the V12 is 30% more $ and substantially larger
this may have a lot to do with it in my opnion.overall its a fine value for the money and compares very well to subs costing a good bit

I feel this is an awesome value for what it is and am quite happy with my purchase
It's quite accurate and responsive and adds plenty of oomph for movies and good low end sound for music.
A little on the big side as far as size goes but excellent sound
It's definitely not bad, but it's really somewhat muddy sounding, and not all that powerful for a 10", 160-watt, powered subwoofer
I was really suspicious of that route but it is totally quiet, transparent, and introduces zero hum, buzz, or hiss sound, whatever to the desktop speakers
Bic makes a solid heavy speaker with excellent sound for the non-audiophile that can tell quality, but can't justify the expense when the family just wants to enjoy and impress on movie night
so, if you buy really cheap bookshelf speakers, that can't supply some lower bass, you'll have some gaps.

I have seen kids poke and smash speakers... so the down firing sub helps prevent that
I use it in a 13'x17' space that is open at one side and it's paired with a set of 5 Energy Take Classic speakers
