Amazingly, I kinda dig that as I really dislike dark roast coffees regardless.

Also, our coarsely ground dark roast coffee—with its surface oils, I guess—clogged the exit from the grinder to the cup

For example, for french press, some of the grounds are as fine as for Turkish coffee and some of the grounds are as big as 1/6 of a bean.
