Not only was the beaker extremely difficult to remove from the plastic base, but the handle snapped right in half when I attempted to reassemble it
-
I just break the beakers all the time, so I switched too the insulated stainless types.
-
However, I truly don't understand why they cant turn that little plastic piece into a metal piece fused to the plunger stem, but I assure you if you don't break the glass beaker first, this little plastic piece will be the way your french press dies
-
Upon washing it prior to first use the glass cracked when the handle secures the beaker to the rest of the unit
-
So I accidentally shattered the beaker in my husbands last french press while washing it
-
In about a dozen disassembly/assembly cleaning, the beaker broke.
-
I've absentmindedly broken the glass beaker twice during those 5 years (my fault), but it's glass, so, come on, it happens
-
I needed a new french press as I broke my old Bodum Chambord beaker
-
I like it enough, it is hard to take apart to clean, the amount of pressure you have to apply makes me afraid of breaking the beaker
-
Also, the beaker is SO fragile!
-
I also found that when I lifted the pot to pour the coffee the shape of the handle caused me to grip it in a way that fingers repreatedly came in contact with the scalding hot beaker
-
I am used to large mugs of Brown Gold, so this size disappoints as to quantity filling only 75% of one 12 oz mug, which may be OK for you if you add creamer or milk, but I have been taking mine black for nearly a year now
-
It broke as I was putting the handle back over the rim, and did a little damage to me
-
Works as I knew it would
-
The coffee grounds only need to be coarse ground as to not clog the filter.
-
So I’m really confused as to why it is advertised as an 8 cup.
