Bodum seems to have better glass than the other french presses in this price point - and though it is a plastic handle/bottom, which is a tough hard to snap off to clean underneath, I dont seem to have the issues with the glass and boiling water that others have at this price point.

I kept breaking my Bodum (separate glass in metal frame) and I haven't broken this one yet.
