Bonavita 1.0L Variable Temperature Electric Kettle, 1.0 Liters, Metallic

    • This is hands down the best hot water kettle we have ever owned
    • As with all pots used to boil hard water, calcium will build up on the bottom
    • Compact enough to stay out of the way on the counter, but holds more than enough water
    • It's a study kettle that'll heat your water quick, easy to pour, and the handle remains cool to the touch
    • Don't accidentally drop and bend the spout and always turn is upside down after use to drain out any residual water.
    • So if you're brewing for 4 minutes, you can't continually replace the kettle on the base and have it keep your water at the temperature you want, and the water slowly cools off throughout the brew
    • We use it everyday for everything from making the perfect temperature oatmeal for the kids, perfect bottle temperature water, and of course teas and coffees.
    • I have several problems with the design of this, it’s very cute but it doesn’t let you know when the temperature has been reached and doesn’t automatically hold so you’ll often end up with overheated water (which, yes, is a real thing which effects taste in tea because of oxygen presence in the water),
    • Thankfully that water wasn't extremely hot, but it easily could have been, and the person handling it could have been severely burned
    • This kettle gets daily use for tea as it really allows you to boil water to whatever point you need
    • It turns on and reads the current temperature as 212F even with cold water in there.
    • In a city with soft, home filtered water, I haven't had any scale in a year
    • Replaced one that was glass which looked terrible showing water spots and such
    • It gives you a little water protective case to put over the base as well
    • I received an elementi hot water kettle in a Bonavita box.
    • We use it to heat water for tea & pour over coffee & any other time we need hot water instead of using the microwave
    • With the second one, regardless of what the temperature is set to, it will always fully boil the water
    • The kettle consistently said the water was anywhere from 20ºF to 50ºF colder than it actually was
    • Heating time is fast especially for a mug or two of hot water.
    • Water only touches stainless.
    • In a city with hard water, lime scale appeared immediately
    • Personally, I use some vinegar that has been further diluted by lukewarm water, I let it sit for a few hours, and then I rinse a few times until I can't smell it anymore
    • This heats quickly, has lots of useful settings, and there's nothing but metal in contact with the water (our key requirement, since so many other steel kettles have a plastic measurement window that exposes the hot water to plasticizers).
    • No more BOILING HOT water that scalds tea leaves and coffee beans
    • This item is very useful for making pour over coffee, loose leaf tea, instant ramen, or any other thing that requires hot water in a flash!
    • Glad to find this - so much better than the old glass hot water makers.
    • Frustrating for when you'd like to multitask, i.e. heat water to desired temperature while doing other things around the house.
    • We use it for pour over coffee plus all throughout the day for any reason we would need fast hot water.
    • It's basically impossible to drain the water, causing gross spots and mold/rust to easily form
    • Using tap water left some hard water stains in the kettle, but after switching to filtered water, it still looks brand new
    • So I bought a thermos to keep the water warm after heating it up in the kettle.
    • Heats the water, but the display screen doesn't work
    • I use this for morning pour over, tea, anything requiring very hot water.
    • I have been using the microwave and stove to get hot water with undesirable results since I can't control the temperature of the water
    • This electric kettle heats water super quick and the functions like keeping the water at a specific temperature are handy
    • There are a lot of complaints about water stains/calcium build up from other users
    • Since you have to add water after you use the AeroPress (or milk/etc), I usually brew the coffee, then set the pot back on the base and tap the preset temp button several times to the 208 °F to top off my mug with really hot water, as I like hot drinks
    • Just a little bit, but water comes from beneath the spout, and it's enough after warming up water for it to leak all over the counter
    • This is absolutely the best water kettle to buy, I looked through the reviews of at least 7 different kettles, including ones you had to put on the stove
    • It is easy to clean, but I recommend using good water (store bought, filtered, or something) because excessively hard water (with calcium etc) will leave residue on the bottom as it is boiled out (boil white vinegar to easily remove).
    • The variable temperature is great with hold mode to make sure you are getting precisely the correct water temperature for extraction.
    • Perhaps my water is too hard, or I really needed to descale weekly, but suddenly I have a leak at the bottom of the spout where it attaches to the kettle
    • cute design and pour thin stream of hot water
    • The water boils very quickly.
    • Boil only water in it
    • Heats up fast, keeps the water warm to your chosen temperature and will automatically shut off if you haven’t used it for a while
    • Hard water leaves a little stains on the inside
    • I love that I can keep the water at the same temp for a period of time and also love that it defaults to the last temperature used (versus 212)
    • is if it had a time program feature (wake up to hot water)great for price
    • Has a temperature control so your water stays hot
    • I stopped using it for the most part after getting a 3-liter water heater (always-available hot water is surprisingly useful, it's kinda transformative) which also serves my coffee needs
    • The crook neck pours beautiful hot water.
    • You will find yourself boiling water just to use this incredible invention
    • Works great for warming water to a precise temperature for tea
    • For over a year and a half, this has been cranking out hot water for us
    • Works great, super fast hot water, you control the temp
    • The water stays hot for a perfect amount of time
    • However, it heated water quite well for one month, then stopped working suddenly.
    • However now after 3 years the handle catastrophically failed and hot water spilled on my
    • The 1.0L version is enough water to more than enough for a small gourd of mate (refilled 10 or so times, at least
    • The spout gives you good control without splashing hot water all over the place.
    • Maybe an angry ghost coming in to turn the kettle on, boil off all the remaining water, and leave a scorching hot pot too hot to touch in an attempt to burn down the kitchen and me with it
    • Definitely designed for well water or European drinking water.
    • This is not the accuracy I was expecting -- I could do better just boiling water on the stove and using an instant read thermometer
    • There are some hard water deposits inside that I could remove with an overnight vinegar rinse, but I don’t bother
    • Very well made and boils water fast
    • It heats water very fast, has easy-to-use controls including the "hold" feature, and is easy to clean
    • No more BOILING HOT water that scalds tea leaves and coffee beans
    • so it refuses to boil water now.
    • I live in a hard water area.
    • Because it had seen light use in clean water (no mineral deposits
    • Whenever it gets some hard water build up inside, I pour some vinegar in with some water and let it sit a few hours
    • well, it boils water,
    • Just get something that has a gooseneck and boils water fast, and use a thermometer
    • and just enough water to fill a small french press
    • I’ve used only distilled or spring water bringing it to a boil first to kill any bacteria then letting it cool to the tea temp I need and yet every time I use it the water looks like this.
    • The hold feature is splendid allowing you to keep the water hot for tea if you’re making multiple cups or just want to ensure the continued use of your kettle.
    • The water comes out more controlled, plus I no longer burn my hand when pouring because the way this is designed
    • I love the custom temperature setting and how quickly it boils water
    • I've spotted a bit of rust under the lid, but it's just a little trace, and I leave water in it all the time, and the kettle doesn't really rust anywhere else
    • I use only purified water
    • All it does is register how hot the water is, but it won't heat it.
    • Cold tap water to 190F in about 150 seconds
    • Unfortunately, it stopped working after only ten months of regular use ( average of 3 times of warming water daily).
    • I turned on this kettle once to boil some water so that it could be "cleaned"...tried to turn it on again (as the instruction manual says to do) and it won't turn on again....
    • Boils water quick, and super easy to pour
    • Heats water fast, works great, great real time temperature control.
    • I've been wanting a hot water kettle for a while
    • Heats water faster than my last electric kettle, and I love that I can vary the temperature
    • Well it heats water, and you can set the target temperature and keep the water warm
    • Feels a little cheap but been going strong, boils my water about as fast as I can grind them beans.
    • Heats up very quick and keeps the water warm and ready to go for additional cups
    • It pours a steady stream of perfectly heated water, allows you to preset the temperatures you'd
    • We practically use it for coffee and tea or plain hot water
    • The other issue I had with this kettle was that it was never able to boil my water to 212 degrees F.
    • We start with filtered fresh cold water and use various temps for pour over coffee, americanos, tea, and other hot beverages.
    • All that works great but it will not keep the water warm and turns off as soon as it reaches set temp
    • Even faster than warming the water in microwave
    • I use to heat water in the microwave and the water was way way too hot.
    • I use it heavily throughout the day because I like drinking warm water, so being able to keep water at temperature for an hour is very handy
    • I love green tea and when you steep it the water is not supposed to be higher than 140 degrees
    • If the water hits boiling it'll automatically disable the temperature hold, but that's really the only inconvenience
    • It will still heat water, but after two weeks of gentle use (I even left the plastic on the base!), it shakes like an aluminum can with a nail in it
    • I get up and make my own coffee, then put the temperature on hold so that the water stays hot until the next person is out of bed
    • This could be dangerous if the hot water splases on anyone when the kettle crashes on the floor
    • I know we have hard water, but I've never seen the water warp any of our pots or pans like this
    • It's precise, heats up quick and keep your water warm for up to an hour
    • It eventually got to the point where it would always boil the water regardless of the temperature setting.
    • I originally bought this for pour over coffee, but we use it for all of our hot water needs now
    • It's convenient for having hot water around when you want to make tea or instant noodles.
    • While living in an apt complex that had busted water pipes I contracted h
    • : I always leave a little water in it overnight, and only occasionally clean it (every few months)
    • I have an older bonavita that brings the water to boiling and then turns off.
    • This could be dangerous if the hot water splases on anyone when the kettle crashes on the floor
    • I recommend using filtered water
    • Don't think I have had this kettle for a week and the "hold temperature" button which is suppose to keep the water hot for an hour doesn't work
    • I turn it on and it immediately reads 212F, which it cannot be as the water is cold
    • Every once in a while, if the water in the kettle is heated, but then left to cool, instead of being used, it loses its seal and drains the water all over the base and counter top.
    • Even though we have a nice coffee maker next to it, we didn't have a way to heat hot water.
    • Works great, heats up water really fast and I love how the sprout allows for complete control when pouring without any spills!
    • Great for perfect temperature water for coffee making of various
    • We have really enjoyed using the Bonavita digital variable hot water kettle
    • We start with filtered fresh cold water and use various temps for pour over coffee, americanos, tea, and other hot beverages.
    • This is great for warming up water within a certain temperature
    • The control panel needs to be turned back on each time the kettle is replaced in order to keep the water hot
    • the hold temp feature is great as you can jump in the shower and the water will be waiting at the perfect temperature, ready to brew
    • I love how fast it bowels the water
    • I got this June '19 and as of December '19 water started leaking from the base of the neck of the kettle
    • Water that was once room temperature is now hot, thanks to the Bonavita 1.0L Digital Variable Temperature...
    • The water warms up quick.
    • Stopped boiling the water in less than a month from purchase
    • It is lightning fast to heat up water and extremely accurate.
    • When full, the kettle boils water to 200 degrees within a couple of minutes
    • The base malfunctioned after just over a year of use, and a replacement base was denied as it was just outside of warranty
    • The spout neck is kind of a pain and the temperature regulation on the second one we bought was not as accurate as on the first one
    • Works exactly as it's supposed to
    • I've found that by setting the kettle to "hold" at 98 C, I can get it to work as
    • I wipe out all of the water right after it cools off a
