Noise cancelling does still work, and the headphones are still usable, but the static is quite loud and annoying especially for the price.

I had Bose headphones in the past and loved them, but everyone was buying
-
Let me start by saying these are the most comfortable headphones and the best noise-cancelling technology that I have experienced.

These headphones are certainly enjoyable, but were not what I expected

It's not like noise isolating headphones that jam deep into your ear and simply block out all sound.
-
Simply amazing headphones
-
These headphones simply sound great, just as headphones
-
I have owned these great headphones for about 3 years at the time of this writing
-
Having said that, the QC20s are a simply fantastic pair of noise-cancelling headphones, among the best available, and a great purchase for any regular traveler
-
By far, EXTREMELY FAR, the best headphones I've ever had
-
They are great headphones
-
These are hands down the absolute best headphones I have ever used

I bought these for the convenience of the smaller size for travelling and for wanting the same performance as my "over-ear" noise cancelling headphones from Bose.
-
These are the best headphones i've had, but i must admit they are the only active noise cancelling headphones i've owned so take my review with that in mind.

Excellent noise cancelling headphones.
-
I have never used noise cancelling headphones and had assumed that the big over-the-ear design was a big part of the noise cancelling feature.

I would NOT RECOMMEND these headphones
-
Quite possibly the best noise cancelling headphones I've ever used
-
Take the headphones for what they are, not what they're advertised to be, and hopefully you'll still enjoy them.
-
The sound is not as good as my big bulky headphones, but for earbuds they are the best quality I have heard
-
Years ago I tried noise cancelling headphones from another manufacturer and found that they made the problem worse instead of better by reducing the background noise and the conversations even more distracting

I bought these for ASMR videos because the videos really relax me and I can't do over-ear headphones because they hurt my ears and jaw from being too tight usually, so I thought earbuds were the way to go
-
They function just fine as headphones, and the white noise cancellation is still nice
-
Love these headphones.
-
Love these headphones!
-
They are nice headphones, they should be taken care of
-
I'd heard that many judged Bose's headphones better at quieting ambient noise than other noise-cancelling headphones, but the difference is really dramatic, and these earbuds truly are almost as effective as Bose's world-beating QC25s in my comparison
-
I was so surprised that it exceeded the qc 25 headphones
-
Nice lows (bass) that I found unexpected from a pair of in-ear headphones
-
Again, I've already touched on this but be ready for an overall quieter headphone if you buy these than if you buy a different pair

I still think QC20 is the best overall noise cancelling headphone in the market
-
These headphones are amazing.

The design on these is great, I love the idea of portable noise cancelling headphones that I can take on the plane without the additional bulk and they actually work
-
The sound quality and noise cancelling were even better than my old Bose over the ear noise cancelling headphones
-
The headphones work as advertised and do a great job.
-
Nice thing is they still work as headphones if you run out of battery
-
These headphones are surreal.
-
These headphones aren't great at blocking high pitch noises like a screaming toddler or a baby's cry.

These headphones are good at drowning out constant noise (PC fan, vacuum, etc..).
-
No more pain on my ears by wearing noise canceling headphones for long haul flights.
-
I have always preferred in ear headphones to full head earphones or those that clip around the outside of the ear.
-
I'm one of those people that doesn't believe I should be able to hear ANYTHING from outside if I am wearing noise cancelling headphones.
-
Not diving into technical stuff, but great headphones
-
I see no way around this with noise cancelling headphones, and Bose has done as good a job as can be expected
-
The BEST headphones for the in the ear type
-
Overall, this is by far the best set of noise cancelling ear buds I have ever used, with better sound and noise cancellation than all but the best headphones.
-
But the sound quality is not as good as a $250 headphone.
