I replaced the crappy 3.5mm aux cable with a premium shielded one and plugged the Bose Companion 2 into my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card.

Great sound quality work great wish the aux was longer as far as the cable is concerned but these speakers are loud and crisp and you can definitely tell the difference when you compare regular speakers to these, don't let the size fool ya the quality from Bose is always top notch!

Well, alternatively you can get an 2 channel amp and a pair of semi-decent shelf speakers and cables and etc

and I could have just bought a better cable, but the cable should have worked

My only real complaint is the 1/4" to 1/4" audio cable that connects the speakers to the output on your computer

Speakers work good once I replaced the faulty audio cable.

The cable was only $5 so not worth the hassle of swapping a product that otherwise worked exceptionally well, IMO.

I use a full Bose system for my computer, and the spouse was using either Bose headphones,or stealing my cable to plug into hers

, it may sound as good as this one (or maybe not) , whereas its already there ready to roll , plus no messy cable management headaches.i definitely recommend it for for anybody who is looking for a warm sound - very nice sounding in high/mid range frequencies.

Unplugging a loose cable and plugging it back in fixed the hum.

The audio cable that goes from the speaker to the PC is a little short as well

If you hear a hum check your cables.

They could be a whole lot better with separate bass and treble controls as well as an on light.

They get use for some music playback as well as for some gaming on my Xbox One X.

not quite a great as I had hoped for.

Can seem a bit muffled when playing at low volume, which improves dramatically as you turn up the volume.

The sound is clearer, for me, as good as it will get.

My husband especially loves them as he listens to music only on the computer

The sound is richer, more crisp, and as clear as if I were really in the game world

Bass is obviously not as strong as with a subwoofer, but the best combo of base, mid, and treble I have heard on a stand-alone pair of multimedia speakers of this size.

and they still are as great as I got them

But I have absolutely no complaints, I've had them for a year and they work as if I bought them yesterday.

I love r&b, and Ole Lou and Barry come out crystal clear

He likes to listen to audible e-books at night in bed.
