The sound is slightly better than a cheap set but not primo as one would expect from Bose

For the same price you can pick up a decent set of Micca speakers and a lepai 2020+ and destroy these things.

Absolutely no bass, which could be expected with no subwoofer, but it truly just sounds terrible compared to even the cheapest 2.1 sets which include a subwoofer, which you can get for $20-40 instead of this ridiculous $100 set

These are crystal clear at the loudest setting on the computer’s loudest setting bit oddly enough, sitting near them they aren’t too loud... but they’re loud downstairs and in the next room and clear as a bell

For 110$ I got a set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, and those completely blow these Bose out of the water

These replaced a 2.1 set of Harman Kardon HK695 computer speakers and these should much better.
