Today we tried to watch a movie on the dvd player and got the "format unsupported" error message.

Similar story to others, only mine at least played DVDs for 18 months b4 the dreaded Format Unsupported start showing up.

But after the upgrade, ALL CDs and DVD's were flagged by the system as unsupported format.

When I bought it, I sometimes got the message 'unsupported format'

I went back to play a CD later and ...sigh, once again got an 'unsupported format' warning and it wouldn't play.

Format unsupported" or "can't read disc" will be what you are looking at instead of your movie

With regards to the "format unsupported" comments, I have only found that this happens when the DVD's or CD's are from "questionable" sources (you know what these are).

Well now it won't play ANY DVD'S because it says the FORMAT IS UNSUPPORTED

Then, I started getting Format Unsupported Errors on every DVD I place into the unit

As irritating as that was, the most irritating thing about the Bose unit is that the audio/video plugs do not stay plugged in.
