I actually talked to one of their install techs and he told me that the 321 is really only designed to provide good surround performance for a small room, such as a den or office.

We've tried everything to remedy this problem, including pushing the unit up against the back wall of our entertainment center in order to keep the plugs from falling out.
I concur, the cable jacks want to fall out - but I just bought a better set from Radio Shack and cured that problem
I would like Bose to replace it, but after reading the pervasive problems online, I think it's better just not to buy this system at all
Based on similar comments by others about the Bose 321 system on this web site, this appears to be a significant and relatively frequent problem...maybe even a design flaw
The only way to clear the problem is to restart the system.
It has been doing that since I bought the thing, but luckily I just use the Blu Ray on my PS3 and run the sound through the Bose system, and for that purpose it works beautifully

The manual was also confusing - and clearly gives incorrect information regarding set up for best possible video results (leading to a whacked out video with green skies, etc. until I figured out the problem)

Today we tried to watch a movie on the dvd player and got the "format unsupported" error message.
But after the upgrade, ALL CDs and DVD's were flagged by the system as unsupported format.
With regards to the "format unsupported" comments, I have only found that this happens when the DVD's or CD's are from "questionable" sources (you know what these are).
Well now it won't play ANY DVD'S because it says the FORMAT IS UNSUPPORTED
When I bought it, I sometimes got the message 'unsupported format'
