The sound is pretty good, not as good as my old Bose speaker for the old iPod

One thing I’d like Bose to change on it would be to allow users to access the app outside of a WIFI zone

We bought a Bose ST20, Series II internet radio a couple years back and love it.

So I was happy to find a compact Bose unit to fill the gap left by my older stereo equipment

I don't own but wanted to make clear BOSE removed support for Apple AIRPLAY!

GREAT sound but aweful software and bluetooth auto shutdownIf BOSE would listen and fix the STUPID auto shut down and Bluetooth disconnect they would have my business and all my co workers and PROFESSIONAL musician colleagues as well!!!!I returned it and got a Peachtree Deepblue,sound quality slightly less good but good solid Bluetooth connection and unit STAYS ON connected ,unlike the stupid BOSE auto shut down and auto dis connect

It needs 30 seconds to turn on and constantly asks you to download the Bose app which does not work really well

The packer sent out a clearly damaged Bose box inside a pristine Amazon shipping box, but that packing failure was resolved quickly by contacting Amazon

You must use the crappy Bose app.

Furthermore, we use the auxiliary ports to hook up to our televisions (one upstairs and one downstairs) for extra sound (our televisions have headphone jack output and we use a headphone jack splitter downstairs to use alongside our soundbar, since we haven't purchased the more expensive Bose one)

For a tech Luddite like me, it was just amazing to hear that great, fat Bose sound, as well as be able to access the thousands of world-wide internet radio stations.

I have also come to trust Bose over the years, so I feel confident that this item will last a long time.

I highly recommend the Bose SoundTouch 20 Series III if you want a great portable wireless speaker system for your WiFi or Bluetooth device

But I have to say I have buyers remorse for not buying Sonos because Bose is sooooo slooooow at making the simplest software enhancements to the system.

Hope Bose improves this issue because even if the speaker is plugged in and with all the wifi still get message it has so signal and will stop playing.

That means that at any time, Bose can decide your speaker doesn’t work anymore

Finally a chance to play cd quality on great Bose speakers!

Considering that Sonos has a MUCH better software back end, super-solid network stream (bose drops FREQUENTLY), sounds fantastic, and is similarly priced, how could you could this over Sonos?

Of course, you don't get the wireless stuff, but the Bose isn't so hot at this either

[Update in October 2015: I recently set up a powerful wireless range extender in the room where I use this system, and the sync problems and some related playback issues disappeared, so they were probably a sign of a wireless dead zone to which the Bose was simply more sensitive than other devices used in the same room

It is unfortunate that Bose has not addressed these issues.
